With the likely boom in domestic tourism from the easing of lockdown restrictions from mid May are there any innovations or improvements to stage carriage bus services, both commercial and tendered, planned for the summer season?

I doubt whether Arriva in north Wales will be planning anything though...!

From Sunday 16 May

Coastliner – Leeds | Tadcaster | York | Malton | Scarborough & Whitby - Yorkshire’s Most Amazing Day Out is getting even better with double the buses to Scarborough! We will bring you our biggest timetable ever this summer, with twice as many buses running to everyone’s favourite Yorkshire seaside resort – that means we’ll be running every 30 mins (Mon-Sat) between Leeds, York and Scarborough. We will continue to serve Whitby, Pickering and the Moors regularly too. Look out for more news on this soon.

Indeed. The OP may find the First South West thread of interest, particularly the last 20 or so pages(!) Off the top of my head it includes not only a slight rework of the existing Atlantic Coaster open top services in Cornwall, but also new open top routes in Exeter and Falmouth. An 'Exmoor Coaster' will also run between Watchet, Minehead and Lynmouth, which I think has in the past been a seasonal service operated by Quantock? There's also to be a 'Dartmoor Explorer' route between Plymouth and Exeter via Tavistock, but that will be closed-top. There's also a 'Daytripper' brand being launched. There may well be other bits that those more in the know can expand on! They seem to be really going for it though.

Go North East are running a daily X11 service during weekends and school holidays. It'll run from Newcastle and several other North East towns to Whitby and Scarborough.

There have been numerous reports of most holiday accommodation in the West Country being fully booked for this summer. I’ve also heard that hotels and self catering establishments are now getting fully booked right through September and into October. Buses could have a very busy summer. I’ve got a week booked in Penzance at the beginning of October. I wonder if there is any chance that the summer timetables might need to be extended this year to accommodate extra passengers beyond the first week in September.

Is warmer weather forecast for this October compared to previous years?
You take your chance with the weather for holidays in the UK. Sometimes in the weather in Cornwall during September and October can be better than during July and August. Perhaps not always warmer, but often drier.

As we appear to have two very similar threads, I shall lock this one. Any discussion can be continued here:
