Hello all,
I have been reading the confusing page on this ticket that is on the FCC site:
"DaySave cannot be used before 10:00 Monday to Friday, in line with the validity of Network Railcards. They are also not valid for travel on northbound services departing Moorgate or St Pancras International between 1630 and 1901 for journeys to any station between St Albans and Bedford inclusive. Please refer to the pages headed 'Off-peak Fares' in the current First Capital Connect Thameslink route 'Train Times' timetable. However, DaySave can be used at any time on weekends and Bank Holidays. Our route map shows you the places you can travel to and from using a DaySave ticket on First Capital Connect services on the Thameslink route"
Just some questions I need cleared up here:
1. Why Moorgate is in the restriction time I have no idea, but it states between 1630 and 1901 it is barred between St Albans and Bedford basically (which from St Pancras there are non stop runs to this station IIRC on ex-Brightons).
So I could still travel from St Pancras to Elstree in this time window? If so why does it not just say 'They are also not valid for travel on northbound services between 1630 and 1901 for journeys between St Albans and Bedford'.
2. "Our route map shows you the places you can travel to and from using a DaySave ticket on First Capital Connect services on the Thameslink route"
That basically means Brighton to Bedford at CityFlyer loop only basically?
3. "DaySave cannot be bought at stations or on trains. It must be purchased before you travel from any of the following outlets"
Has anyone actually purchased one the day before travel? Just wondered if I could do it before or weather it needs to be purchased on the day.
I do wonder why it is only sold at TIC centres at random locations, and not at all available online or at stations. It makes it sound like they want to add effort and hope no one can be bothered or something. At least with Southern you can order it on the phone and have it sent to you.
Any help would be appreciated.
James.
