As today is Official Talk Like a Pirate Day, yes it really is!. Have you ever come across a stupid official day?

"Act like a Ninja Day"?
"Hop on one foot day"?

Or if you're doing something for Official Talk Like a Pirate Day, please explain why and what?!

You can even check out the website for more details!

I should think that most people who plan on observing Official Talk Like a Pirate Day will do so by, er, talking like a pirate. Can't think why though!

It's a protest against a US State's Education Policy which states that all children must be taught that creation was the origin of all life. So the "Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" was created to challenge them, saying that they couldn't deny the existance of the FSM, so they must teach that too. "Talk like a pirate day" is their 'holy' day. Arr.

Saw a bunch of pirates at Leeds statiion last night. They appeared to be finding out that if they'd missed the 2017 to Barnsley they had another 2 hours to wait.

In the teaching profession during the late 1980's, there used to be spontaneously declared "Baker Days", where teachers in England & Wales stopped teaching and dedicated that working day to do all the administration demanded by the then Minister of Education, Kenneth Baker.

On the subject of "days", some idiot in Glasgow decided to have a "Pint of Beer" day. The general consensus of opinion was "If you miss it, there's another 364 days in the year!"

Still, it's more fun than National Constipation Week isn't it?

just look on facebook, you will have a merry time with these 'days' 'Punch a Justin Beiber fan in the face day' has got to be my favourite.

Never mind about talk like a pirate day. To-day is Trafalgar day and never forget it.

England expects that every man will do his duty. many men have to ensure brittania rules the waves, to all of them rest in peace. *salutes*. being ex-navy trafalgar day is important to me.
