Could anyone please clarify something for me. Can one issue a weekly season ticket and use something like a driving licence or passport as temporary photo id for one week only in the event of a customer not having a photograph to make a formal photo card.

This is subject of course to the customer ensuring that they keep the aforementioned form of id with them and being for a one week emergency period only

No, thats not permitted, but what you could do, is photocopy their passport or driving lisence, cut the photoout, and use that in the photocard stock! It'll be black and white, but theres nothing that states it needs to be a colour photo.

You need a picture to get your first weekly season ticket at a staffed station.

Correct but you can buy them from TVM's and people just put anything in for the photocard number. Most people leave it blank, I've seen people put their first name in it...

Thats correct, i have withdrawn loads of them since tvm's were introduced.

"In an emergency", a Y-P or 16-25 photocard may be used, however a new photocard must be made before a new season is issued.

Quite what sort of "emergency" would require a season to be issued I do not know.

"My house is on fire, can I buy a season ticket using this Y-P photocard please"

You must have a "passport style" photograph which can be black and white or colour, but must be of sufficient quality to identify the user.

A lot of stations have photo machines so it's quite easy to get a photo there and then. I don't know if TOCs publish on their websites the stations that have them?
