47062 on 48, 08 reg solo is 47617

20913 did the 1225 northside
20994 was on X4
--Jonckheere 52628 arrived at bus station at 1245, didn't see what it was doing though or whether it went onto the annex - was on 47007 on way home :lol:
and 20962 did Moorclose 50 until 0945 run when 47007 took over

47006 has ventured onto Harrington after being pulled off Moorclose.
15683/5/6 on 300. didn't see other one.

52628 and 20436 on 600 this morning.

Spotted 22112 heading towards Kingstown from the Depot, mostly like en-route to the M6. Wasn't being driven by an employee of CE.......(I think!)

Workington North Temporary Rail Station is to close next week, leaving the only public transport option to Dunmail Park as the significantly more expensive Stagecoach services (Workington Main to Workington North return was £1 for an adult. on the bus in early 2009, I was charged £2.65). it won't make much difference when ASDA Free Bus starts anyways really, everyone will start using that to get to Dunmail Park and surrounding areas!

Just noticed, the doors on the Scanias don't have the oval detail on the bottom any more- i noticed it on an Preston example in St Annes today, and it looks like this (courtesy of Wikipedia), while ours (courtesy of Jonesy) look like this

2 old step busses on 47 today so other half got taxi in to town with kids to catch bus to whitehaven hospital and guess what turned up. yes an old step bus so she had to wait for the next one. when i went to meet her after work at whitehaven i saw another step bus on number 3 mirehouse circlar. where are all the stepless busses at ? they need to get some more at lilyhall

18327 was sent as replacement then that expired with what turned out to be flat batteries at LBS had to give him 18326. might have been the other way round but it was definately those two involved

I think you'll find that Lillyhall are doing the best they can with the buses they've got! A few Solos will be broken, along with the legendary 34079! We're not fortunate enough to have a plethora of sprare low floor vehicles, that's just the way it is!

Also, Reays often have step entrance 709's on the 75 in Carlisle.

stagecoach is a big company they should be able to get more stepless busses at lilyhall there is more old busses on than stepless busses. reays use stepless busses on 75 route more than old minibusses they arnt as big as stagecoach so thats no excuse

What did people used to do when there were no low floor buses. o thats right they folded there prams up.

You say could be broken, but you'll see a selection of solos around one day, the next day they will be different selection. Just looking back to the 11/09/10 and according to fleet changes all but 47616 has been mensioned in the area in service from then to today :lol: it does make you wonder where the hell they allocate 11 solos (with 1 left over).

OK if some are broken/service it can't be avoided.... Mirehouse getting a step-entrance is always is ha in itself :lol:

The 75 service is tendered for low floor buses and reays would have put a bid in to take account for the use of low floor services, so they have two low floors for a requirement of two. Workington town services are commercial services so again they properly only have enough for there requirement.

they obviously dont have enough we hardly ever get stepless busses at seaton. and moorclose is the same and the busses to whitehaven and maryport are often the old ones

The way the company works though could be affecting this, of course its all done on budgets and orders.
The way vehicles are allocated is that Stagecoach UK Bus own every vehicle that you and me ride on today, whether its based at Frenchwood, Lilyhall, Newcastle, Manchester etc. These vehicles are then LEASED to each of the depot and will take a percentage of that depots budget, each depot decides what they need depending on contracts/routes and each OM will put a good case forward to their depot recieving some of the new fleet order for that year. Cost wise im not familiar with, but a educated guess says the newer low floor vehicles will cost more to lease than older vehicles, hence often smaller depots have more of a mix. Each depot will allocate a set percentage of their yearly budget to vehicles lease, so the more profitable the depot, the better chances of it having more money to spend. Of course there will be other variables, a visit from the boss may help as may negative press regarding the state of the operation, but 9 times out of 10 this is how many large transport groups carry out their business... the best buses in the most profitable areas on the most profitable routes.

Going back to some fleet news, it is 16647 at Frenchwood and not 16649 - so its obviously been displaced from Lilyhall with the new Scania arrivals. 33143 is back at Frenchwood, under repair, before apprently being moved on to a Cumbrian depot - choice of 4... guesses please!
