What was the colour of those hard-working little Oompa Loompa chaps in the Gene Wilder film version of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"?

I wonder if the present incumbent in the White House is one of those who made his escape?
Slight flaw in your argument, playing golf does not constitute 'hard-work'. (Although, he could be the exception ...)

There's some sort of joke in there about Borderline Personality Disorder and The Wall. Time for a mini competition - Ready, Steady, Joke?
My pun game isn't likely to compete with @Cowley and I'm a bit late to the party, but I find it amusing that so many think Trump will attempt to pardon himself... I bet he doesn't even do that when he farts (and given his diet, I bet they'd clear a room quicker than a SWAT team).

Big Q today is will the Rep managed to win one of the two senate run off? Its should be noted that the money is on rep to hold them, they have never lost in a run off. its now 2020/2021 so who knows.

I doubt it. Even the most loyal Trumpists don't rate DJTJ that highly. Ivanka would have a better chance.
Given the outgoing First Lady was born in Slovenia, I wonder what the birther movement would have to say about that?

Brain fart- see below.

Ivanka (daughter), not Melania (future ex-wife).

Of course, oops! Not enough coffee (or should that be not enough covfefe?) for me this morning!

I mean considering some of the extremely creepy comments he's made about his daughter you may have managed more of an insight to Trumps inner thoughts than perhaps you expected...

When Donald Trump was watching his 16-year-old daughter Ivanka host the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant, he turned to the then-Miss Universe and asked: “Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?”

That anecdote, told to the New York Times by Brook Antoinette Mahealani Lee, appears to be the first recorded incident of the Republican presidential candidate and reality TV star making comments about his daughter’s body which those present have deemed inappropriate.

In the almost 20 years since, Mr Trump has called his eldest daughter “voluptuous”. He’s said it’s OK to describe her as “a piece of ass”, though she is a senior executive in his business empire. And he’s said that, if she wasn’t his daughter, “perhaps [he’d] be dating her”.

Have you seen how he plays? He definitely makes it look like hard work.
I thought his caddy did all the work, finding the ball in the deepest rough, 'encouraging' it near the fairway. Trump just drives around on the golf cart.

He's a confirmed golf cheat isn't he? Or least that's been widely reported.
I've found this (just tried 'trump che' in a search engine):
https://golf.com/lifestyle/celebrities/how-why-president-trump-cheats-golf-playing-tiger-woods/

Too long to quote in full but:-
Trump doesn’t just cheat at golf. He cheats like a three-card Monte dealer. He throws it, boots it, and moves it. He lies about his lies. He fudges and foozles and fluffs. At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: “Pele.”

I have checked the date of the article - April 2nd 2019. There is, apparently, a book about it.

Maybe thinking of Ivana, first ex-wife and mother of Ivanka, born in what was then Czechoslovkia?
Nope, it was just a brain fart!

@ainsworth74 I'd forgotten all about that (and many other of DJT's bizarre antics), which shows how ridiculous his entire Presidency has been. He's made odd comments about Ivanka on several occasions including live on television.

He clearly has some severe psychological issues going on, a fragile ego and an inability to look at any situation beyond how it affects him. Such as the speech in the week or so after the 2020 election where he couldn't bring himself to say "we lose" even in the conditional tense, and had to quickly revise his speech to say "...we l... er... don't win."

T**** is clearly a severely narcissistic case. I have no doubt that he fully believes that he won the election, simply because he isn’t capable of imagining that he could have lost. People in power with that kind of mindset will therefore look for the evidence to shore up their delusion and ignore anything that doesn’t fit. It’s a bit like deposed world leaders who were astonished that the people didn’t ‘love’ them, only finding out as the coup leaders break down the palace gates.

There is a video (
of an official of the Secretary of State's Office in Georgia debunking the various claims of voter fraud (including one where Trump would have had to obtain 130% of those that voted in one county - I suppose that is possible in his eyes). Signer is brilliant!

What was more telling was the responses to the questioning at the end, amongst the comments made by the official (a registered Republican) about the phone call Trump made to Raffensperger was that Nobody he knew who would be President would do something like that to a Secretary of State and, asked why the call was recorded, Given the environment we are in right now and political situation we are in, and the history of the President knowing he sometimes don't necessarily characterises things as they actually occurred, it was out of an abundance of caution'. (I've not included them in quotes because I'm not 100% that I've got all the words right.)
This to me is damning of Trump; if Republican officials are going to make such comments, they clearly have lost confidence in the man so maybe his loss is rather more understandable. Bad news for the Democrats -half way decent candidate and they may well be back.

I got a feeling both parties will win a seat.

I think you might be right.

I believe he believe he lost because he believed there was a plot to cheat him out of an a won. That why he will never say he lost.

I don't want to get too deep into psychoanalysis but he believes there's a plot to cheat him because it gives him an out - he has never demonstrated the ability to accept failure (Daddy issues) so sets up a reason for not succeeding beforehand. Note that he was already playing the "rigged election" card before the 2016 election as well.

Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.
In case you've not seen it, it looks very much like the Dems are going to have control in both the House and the Senate (with VP Harris' presiding vote) with this run-off in Georgia. Raphael Warnock has won his race and Ossoff is extending his lead into the early morning hours. Exciting times ahead, maybe Biden will actually get some serious reform done during his term.

Trump caused this to happen. Today's going to be extra, extra special.

2 mega wins for Biden and Harris, who for at least 2 years will be able to get much of there plans through.

Pence has actually cast a tie-breaker in the Senate 13 times, so expect that number for the VP-Elect to be enormous.

It’s even more impressive, that in both of these Run-Offs, that they are outperforming Biden’s Election result, in many counties across the state and both’s victories, are ending much higher than Biden’s 12,780 vote win.

Things will be fascinating to see, how much of the radical stuff Biden actually does. He may have the power, but the differences across the Democrats between the Left and Centre-Left (as in The Labour Party), I suspect might still make things quite difficult.

Its a win, that all I can say but to say mega? In the main race the winner is only leading by 15'000 just a little bit more than Biden win back in November. Even stranger people were clearly switching votes between the two races. The margins of victory are so small its makes it possible for them to start losing races rather easily in 2 years time.

I don't expect that number for the VP-Elect to be enormous, because I can see at least 2-3 democrats senates not voting for any radical policy's. I think Biden will go back to the centre for most of his policy which will PEE - OFF AOC, I think both parties are heading for civil war.

There's going to be conflict and disagreement in both parties, yes. Difference is that the Democrats will be fighting over degree of policy, while the Republicans are going to be fighting of objective reality and the existence of truth.

Do we know that they switched? Could it be that they voted in one race and not in the other? I can think of a couple of reasons why some people would vote for Warnock (D) but not feel so strongly about Ossoff (D) (race and religion) as well as a couple why I would not vote for Loeffler (R) under any circumstances (reports of her taking advantage of her privileged position to make stock market gains/ limit losses and objectionable election tactics). There may also be some who made a personal vote for Perdue (R), who is Georgia born and bred.
The margins of victory are so small its makes it possible for them to start losing races rather easily in 2 years time.
I reckon that there are at least five easy to lose races in 2022 for the Democrats so they will need to put in a decent performance in the next two years.

The Squad need to remember that they are fighting a long war. Make them read the story of the (British) Labour Party, 2015 - 2019, small gains are better than big losses. Sanders would have been beaten by Trump, no need to try to manipulate votes.

IF my calculated is correct the difference between total number of votes both races is only 6000 votes meaning around 50'000 either switched or 50'000 vote in one but not the other,.

Popcorn ready for the now inevitable GOP civil war
I think it's necessary; I think that the Republicans need to ditch Trump as soon as possible, but I also think that they're in the "Washington bubble" and can't see clearly for the most part. Trump appeals to people who will always vote Republican anyway, and also to people who like him because he's not a normal politician. But he's clearly toxic to many voters in Georgia for trying to deny them the result of their election, and I feel that he's toxic to the Republican party in the long term. He's clearly got a grip on the party in the short term, though, and many Republicans feel a need to pander to him for now, but I wonder how long this will last for?
