When is ticket machine collection offered and when not?

Does anyone know the 'rules' for when self-service ticket collection is offered and when it isn't?

I'm trying to buy a ticket for next Saturday - a journey wholly in London with travelcard attached - on the FGW website and the only delivery option it's giving me is next day delivery, the cost of which is more than the ticket!

I collect tickets from the machines all the time. This particular one seems to be troublesome though.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

That's very odd. Have you tried a different website? I've bought a ticket online the evening before collecting it, without problems. I usually use East Coast.

Yes, I have. I tried First Capital Connect and Virgin. Same problem. Next day delivery only. Hmm.

Try this one, it uses a different booking engine to the others you've mentioned.

Southeeastern is allowing me to purchase a Z1256 travelcard for Saturday with pick up at Crayford.

Thanks. Just tried it. Ah, same problem - although it offered next day delivery for £5 rather than £6.

(I'm trying to buy a Zone 6 station to Zone 1 return, with travelcard. With a Network Railcard it's just £5.)

How strange. You're right - Southeastern works! Thanks.

Feel free to work out what's going on!
