Interesting, I know there was a single 150 on the Tarka Line today so maybe it could go with that tomorrow but then again I heard that 143s were in a way last resort for the Tarka Line due to it not being good for their wheels so will probably go onto Exmouth to Paignton if it does happen.

Shortage of train crew atm coming into affect too?
Any idea on which unit it will be as I know 143617 and 618 are available for use but not sure about 619 as it is still at SPM currently I think and I know the allocations are not usually done until about 2 or 3am if I am correct??
150216+143618
2F08 0604 Exeter St Davids to Exmouth
2T07 0655 Exmouth to Paignton
2F11 0853 Paignton to Exmouth
2T14 1023 Exmouth to Paignton
2F18 1220 Paignton to Exmouth
2T21 1357 Exmouth to Paignton
2F26 1612 Paignton to Exmouth
2T29 1754 Exmouth to Paignton
2E34 1950 Paignton to Exmouth
Hope 618 gets saved, was my first boys first ever train ride on that, Starcross to Exeter St Davids, only reason I know the number is that I took a pic of it arriving in front of the pushchair on the platform lol
From what I was told last week when getting 612 ready to move off SPM, two of the 'Franchise Assets' which are 617, 618 and 619 are to be preserved, but not known which two, or by who.

619 is officially 'in reserve', but Bristol main line drivers are not passed on the class, and finding a spare Exeter one to come and fetch it is problematical given our covid situation.

143603 is to move to SPM together with a 150 and a 158 which require the wheel lathe.
I was taking some videos this morning from the Rockstone footbridge near Dawlish and caught this Class 143 on an Exmouth service, I Was doubting my sanity until I checked here! This is my first post so hoping I have got the link right.

A bit of a weird question but I'm sure someone will know about it,
While out on 143618 today I noticed it seems to be fitted throughout with some of the old style northern moquette (see attached photos),
I'm sure there is logical reasoning behind this but I'd be grateful if anyone could shed some light on it,
Thanks in advance
I expect they swapped with 150207 as pointed out above, but also nearly all the 150's have the grey/green seat covers so makes sense to keep them as spares
As previously mentioned, the seat covers from the franchise assets were all to be removed and used as spares for the 150s. 207, (which is stopped waiting to be tyre turned) will likely have those taken from a 143 now.

617, 618 and 619 were always intended to be kept in reserve 'just in case'. Indeed 603 is still shown on the available list.

The opportunity to put it to good use was obviously one that couldn't be resisted . Maybe same again tomorrow ! It's great to have a depot that is seemingly till of proactive people to turn that back out!
As much as I'll be glad to see the back of them, I'm glad common sense has been used today and maybe tomorrow, rather a pacer than struggle with a 2 car
As already discussed, the last day to have them all out was back in October. I can't recall having all 8 out at all in any day this year, but am likely to be wrong.
617 and 618 are the only two in a position to be used.
I would say 618 has a fair chance of being out tomorrow.

The weather being extremely Devonian! I'm down there over Xmas - exact days TBC but won't be more than the Government's recommended four nights. Don't think I'll get to Dawlish though - probably a case of I get to mum's, I'm cooped up there bar daily exercise!
Has been said elsewhere that tonight 150216 and 143603 will be heading to Bristol on 2M72 which would make sense as I know 143603 is due to go up to Bristol to then go by road to join 612 in the near future...
