769003 was on first driver training run. Rest will see 007 for the first time. No passenger services today tho.

If 77485 is correctly quoted, it is part of 319374, last at Long Marston

319374 hasn't operated with Northern for 13 months so definitely not one they want to keep any longer.

I thought TfW were due to receive 769426 so how come they swapped for the Northern unit. Is there plans to receive more Northern 319’s?

No that is 3/4 of the last unit for tfw and one dt car so it can be moved accross the mainline to pullmans for refresh the last dt is still undergoing works at wolverton

37418 is up at Rhymney to act as Thunderbird for the 769 run its part of the agreement in case of failures. When the 769's haven't run during the first lockdown and during the firebreak the 37 returned to Canton. So my assumption is if the 37 returns there will be no 769 runs until it returns.

are no other units in fleet capable of rescuing them?

I believe the 769 are equipped with Janney Type-H Tightlock couplers which is different to the coupling on the 142/150 which is BSI. I think the 37 carry’s some sort of adaptor in the cab. (Not used in anger yet!)

i can see some couplers being kept on 150s to rescue them then in the future

Yes possibly

They will rescue themselves if needed there is enough capacity that there will always be one able to pick up another unit and alot safer than adapter couplers which have a 5mph restriction if used
