In a previous Post, I mentioned the Single Darton Doncaster via Wakefield Fare, was about half the Wakefield Doncaster Fare.

Distance of 5 or 6 miles more, for half the price.

And Manchester Huddersfield return being Cheaper than a Single.

Or Batley to Headingly (change at Leeds), being cheaper than Batley to Leeds.

Anybody know of such a daft situation where more is actually less...?

On the same journey, book further to save money.

A passenger travelling from Salisbury to London requiring certain ticket types can save by booking a ticket from
Shirehampton to London, routed Warminster-Salisbury, an extra 60 miles.

There's the whole middlesborough to carlisle thing which I can't quite get my head around, but which seems to be a travelcard for the north of. England!

Anywhere on the East Coast of Scotland to Hamilton Central is cheaper than the equivilant to Queen Street. (Not valid via Central)

I must be missing something here, how would you get to Hamilton from Queen St without going via central?:-\

My memory is pretty vague now but can you go qs ll to coatbridge, walk to the other coat bridge and catch a train to Motherwell and change for the Hamilton circle?

You could, though there is generally only one service an hour from coatbridge central to motherwell at xx20 past the hour, with a few peak emu exeptions, and the last one is at 2220. No sunday service either.!

Easier would be to get the low level from GQS to Bellgrove then walk to Bridgeton then get the Hamilton circle.
