Talent Pool - Senior Conductor

Anyone here sat in a talent pool for Senior Conductor roles with WMT? Anyone had any news?

Yes, they are currently trying to work through the backlog of trainees that had started training pre covid+ those who were supposed to start during lockdown. I was supposed to start in October but because of the backlog, I’m now starting anytime from January (depending on: how long it takes the current trainees to pass & what the government do in regards to covid). A new provisional date for me to start should be confirmed next month.

Thanks CEBZ9, that's really helpful. I'm in a Pool, my concern now is that it will exceed 12 months which might make my pass void?

I understand your situation. I can’t really talk on behalf of wmt but it may be worth giving the recruitment team an email in about a months time if they don’t get in contact with you. Like I said before they will let me know a bit more about my situation next month. So they may also have a better idea of where you will be around that time too.

I was wondering if someone could help me please on here. I’ve recently completed my online tests for senior conductor @ Leamington spa. I completed all three of them and once the time lapsed on the final test I tried to log into the system again but had a message saying I had completed all tests so I was happy these had been completed. This evening though I received a message from West Midlands
Thank you for your application for the position of Trainee Senior Conductor - Leamington Spa with West Midlands Trains.

The online tests that were previously sent to you have now expired and according to our system, they have not been fully completed within the specified time frame. We will therefore be unable to progress your application further on this occasion.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this as I’m certain that this is an error. Thank you.

Hello! Hopefully you’ve got this sorted now, the exact same thing happened to me but it was a mistake on their part and I’d actually passed all 3 tests and I am through to an interview.
Any advise anyone?
It’s for Coventry so if anyone else has their’s first but for a different location I won’t be your competition haha xx

Congratulations! You’ve done well to get a start date. Is that the date you start your training? I’m in a talent pool for Bletchley and have been since May and haven’t heard a thing, which is really disappointing.

Heard nothing since I was told I am in the talent pool for Bletchley. I emailed a couple of weeks ago and got no reply! Luckily I still have a job, but keen to start conductor training. I wonder if anyone else reading this thread is waiting for Bletchley?

That’s really strange, I understand it would take longer due to Covid but they’ve clearly found ways around that now.
I would maybe pester them a bit, as you say luckily you still have a Job but what if you didn’t?
