How easy is it to get to BER from the Tropical Islands? (for those unfamiliar it is huge indoor pool, sauna complex housed in an old airship hanger) It used to be easy to go there via train and shuttle bus. Could check out of a Berlin hotel with a small case, stick it in a locker at the resort then catch a late flight from Schoenefeld.

There's no direct connection, since the train which goes there runs via the Stadtbahn. However, yet another service, not previously mentioned here, the RB22, which runs along the southern edge of Berlin, enables you to connect with the Tropical Islands bound train(the RE2) without having to go into Central Berlin and back out again.

For the avoidance of doubt, it is closed at the moment due to the Corona lockdown.
