It'll be moved from Dollands Moor to Carlisle overnight, though not necessarily to night I would think.

I understand the reasons for some of the shape, but it's still incredibly ugly and those 'futuristic' lights are going to look so dated ... by the time I've posted this comment.

Does anyone know what time it's supposed to pass Preston at? Asking cause I'm watching the WCML Webcam right now. I'm assuming it's already past, but I'm not too sure.

Oh, and am I the only one who thinks that they look absolutely beautiful?

Nope, I think they look pretty good as well!

I just wish we were getting some of them a bit less north than Scotland, ah well we wouldn't have any wires for them anyway :(

What I've never been able to understand, is how on earth the gangway at the front/rear is going to be used - especially in rainy weather! All of the other trains I've seen with a gangway have all been straight - even if the cab isn't.

I filmed the new Scotrail Class 380 in my hometown of Rugeley, it passed about 1047, should had passed around 1035 but it was worth the wait

It also loads different around 2200 and 2315 at Rugeley, like the last train to leave Rugeley Trent Valley to Birmingham is an LM Class 153 on it's own!

But it was an good night and walked away with an video of the new Scotrail Train

As she was moving off, I got a glimpse inside some windows, and while it was dark, I could see that it looked quite comfortable inside.

I wonder if they're the first Scottish photos...

She should be in Polmadie just now. Was last reported 5 early at Rutherglen Jn, so in all likelihood she's there. Any news about any others coming through in the next few days? I've heard rumours that there'll be three by Saturday.

PS: I'll admit to really liking them as well. No idea why people keep calling them ugly!

Yeah, she was about a minute early at Motherwell. I don't know about three, but I hope at least one comes on Saturday morning - I'd love another chance to see it somewhere else other than Motherwell which is far from great for pics!

And I was up at 06:20 after only a five hour sleep to be on the 07:00 to Motherwell. If that's not dedication to the hobby, I don't know what is!

Looking at an website about the Scotrail Class 380's there saying 380104 & 380103 are going to be in Scotland by the 28th August 2010, so taking an guess that another 7X80 will be running tomorrow, but don't hold me on that one, it's just what i'm seeing, the link below shows you the list of the Class 380s numbers ad movements, it did state yesterday that 380104 was going to be delayed but that changed

Let's hope so. By my reckoning they've lost quite a bit of driver training time, so the entry into service is probably going to be delayed. And there's no units retiring or going elsewhere, so there's no contingency plan (like there would have been with the 334s - simply keep the 303s on for a bit).

So they really need a fairly smooth introduction if all goes to plan. But to be honest, I imagine the folks at Scotrail are just glad to see one over here at long last!

They are not due in service until October, with the A-B not opening until December. I think we will see quite a few come over in the next few weeks. They need 12 in service to release 12 334s for service on the A-B, which also requires driver training remember. This should commence late October if I remember correctly.

Thats more or less what i've heard myself, it's the mileage runs that have been affected more than anything else i think. They will be
using drivers from another company apparently too.

I thought it was a very handsome unit to be honest. :)

They should be arriving as 3 and 4 car sets, but as I said before what handsome units!
