Ah right, not much good for what I had in mind then.

Good, I think a uniformed livery across the whole fleet is much better than having different liveries/colours for individual routes. It will give the company a much stronger identity. ;)

I agree, I was in Blackpool yesterday and all the different liverys make it seem like there are several different companies!

Had a trip to Preston today and was lucky enough to sample the new Scanias. Had 15679 on the way there and the driver was taking it easy so no complaints. On the way back I had 15682 and the driver had is foot down the whole way. It performed very well at speed especially between Garstang and Galgate.

17021 on 2a in Preston
2 Marshalls on 3
15566/77 on 125/6
18374 on 1
16660 and 15680 also on 40/41 along with a MAN and a Trident.

33203/4 were withdrawn from Lincolnshire due to them being unable to carry a wheelchair or buggy or anything. the original owner took the option of 40 seats rather than 36 + wheelchair space. Stagecoach are also seemingly selling off low floor Volvo B6BLE's (P reg's from Western) which have a similar problem. 36 DP seating rather than lower seating capacity with a wheelchair space.

Blackpool Transport are putting that livery on all buses over the next few months supposedly, reducing the amount of operational spares (general pool of spares, rather than a few spares for each line plus a general pool), and withdrawing the last Optare Delta's. i also heard they're planning to take a "small" batch of brand new Volvo B7RLE's to see off the remaining Delta's after Line 6 was withdrawn. the changes should increase the number of wheelchair accessible buses on standard services, leaving the step entrances on school work.

2 Preston Bus Solo's from their reserve fleet (PE51's) are up at Carlisle for paintshops. was a rumour they're coming back out in Stagecoach livery (being removed from Preston Bus to give a smaller sale package), but we'll see if it happens like that.

Heard from a source that selborne street are taking 4 solo`s from preston bus as they are keeping one of there routes and some preston bus leyland olys have been sold to ensign.

Correct, Stagecoach will be keeping the 9 and 4 Solos.

The PB Leylands that have gone to Ensign are most of the ex-Lothian E---MSG examples which are redundant due to school contract loses.

The 3 stored Lynxes also went.

The L.E.D went into 17018,the seats are on the balcony in the garage for now and i had fun stripping it down on monday, then had to drive it round the yard yesterday (when it was raining lucky it stopped) without no power steering and a forklift to push it.

20711 and 20984 on 552.

Interesting that 20711 was on 552's.

It was passing through Nether Kellet at abt 10.55, heading towards Over Kellet. There were a couple of drivers on it, guessing that they were route training one of the Dallam Schools routes.

Stagecoach will be keeping the 8 and 4 Solos, the 9 is already a Frenchwood route and was re-registered admist the competition. The 8 differs from the 9 by running via Ribbleton Lane, the 9 via New Hall Lane, both ending up at the very lovely estate known as Moor Nook *cough*.
Preston Bus only have 1 E reg Olympian left, as stated most others went to Ensign, 4 however have stayed in the area with local independent Walton Swift Travel and should be running from their Roman Way base on school contracts from September.

This may seem like a silly suggestion or rather question but would the high back seats go into the 04 solos? They need re-furbing and I'm sure thats the better option but putting those seats in would make them look more SC standard. Not sure if ME have a use for them. Anyone got any ideas?

Also on the way back from Warrington this evening I spotted what I thought was a brand new E300 heading south between Preston and Lancaster. I then saw what I thought was an E200 a few minutes later and 2 minutes after that an E400H. It may have been that I saw two E200's, two E300s or one of each I couldn't tell at that speed. Also apparently the E400H's can only be delivered at night as it is unsafe to go under 50 on the motorway during the day and they have a top speed of 40MPH. The one I spotted had a flashing orange light on the back.

Anyone know when ME'S scanias are due have chesterfield recived any of theres ours should not be far behind theres

I think Chesterfeild are in the process of taking Delivery. I imagine our will arrive next month so maybe a few weeks?

Will be interesting to see where the Olys from Chesterfield go when they are replaced.

Also does anyone know whats currently in CE paintshops?

If 20127 is awaiting reallocation aa per its sign in the window that would imply that there is nothing wrong with it, so why didn't it just go into service at ME rather then SC taking the time to get 20128 down?

And finely, are ME's remaining Scans still helping out at the rider cup in October? I'm assuming not atm. There will be around 140 buses in service daily during the tournament (Friday 1st October - Sunday 3rd October) so a rather big operation!
