Hello!

I'm getting the 4.04PM GWR train from Southampton Central to Fareham tomorrow and I have a couple of questions. I tried googling but it didn't help so I was hoping you all would be able to help.

Does Fareham have a short platform - will I need to be in the front X coaches? Also, how many coaches will the train have? I appreciate this question might not be answerable/might change on the day, but what platform at Southampton will I be going from and which way will the train approach from?

Thank you so much, and I'm so sorry to bother you all again with my nonsense!

The GWR trains from Southampton Central to Fareham normally depart from Platform 1. If you are standing on Platform 1 facing the tracks and with your back to the building, the train will approach from your right.

The train can be between 2 & 5 carriages long. The information screens should tell you if the train is on time / delayed and how many carriages it is.

The platform at Fareham can easily accommodate 5 carriages and the exit/ entrance is towards the end of the platform, which will be where the front of the train stops.

Enjoy your journey

Travel in the front vehicle and you will be right for the barrier at Fareham.
