Generally speaking try and restore some sanity, remind people of risk factors personal and society-wide and that next to nobody on earth has caught covid walking down the street, etc.
Have a discussion about weighing up the lives of elderly and frail people now versus the lives and wellbeing of numbers of younger people an order of magnitude greater in the long run. Introduce hospital triage measures.
Thank Hancock, SAGE etc for their service, accept their 'resignations' for mental health/general tiredness reasons, hope people think it was a coincidence, tell their replacements not to run off on television with 'projections' or Guardian editorials ginning up fear.
Go back to 'Sweden' style measures (probably what we had during summer really, but with more assistance for various groups, focus testing and effort on care homes and hospitals) and bin off all the things where costs outweigh benefits (incl. masks, if they're such an act of altruism they can be voluntary).
Rein in a lot of things which 'make sense' but don't seem to have actually worked anywhere more than a tiny number of people have the virus (intense contact tracing, scare stories about how you might be ok if you get it but you might do asymptomatic spread to some else who five people down the chain spreads it to a frail person, etc..)
In the New Year whenever any of these new treatments come out jab old people with it then broadly speaking forget about the whole thing in Spring.
Quit and go live on a beach instead of trying to figure out how on earth to deal with all of the long term social, health and economic upheaval that's baked in so far today.
In reality, get labelled a granny killer and get kicked out of office a few weeks into this when the hospitals 'overrun'
