Major delays at the moment on the 40/41 services to and from Preston because of a "police incident" between 32 and 31A on the M6 forcing the motorway to be shut in both directions at those points. All traffic being diverted through a already busy Preston with Fylde Road being partly shut because of resurfacing and traffic from there being diverted along Garstang Road.
I've just tried to get into Preston from Garstang and turned back at Broughton after sitting there for nearly 40 minutes... traffic queuing back as far as Barton Grange but looking at the state of the motorway at Bilsborrow, its only going to get worse.

I have heard it on the radio that someone is threatening to jump off a bridge. It has been closed since 1130am. Just hope they can talk to whoever it is and get him the professional help he needs. My thoughts are with them and their family at this time.

Info Bus parked up on Windsor Road again in Garstang today. Scanias out and about on 40 / 41. UID B10 with LED display on 42 heading towards Lancaster just now.

Market day probably why the info bus is in garstang.
18363 is having its vinyls done,22824 is up at carlisle for a much needed repaint and 20128 joins the fleet either tomorrow or over the weekend.

"West Coast Connect" branding is being applied to LL's new Scania's.

I wonder if they are going to brand morecambe`s Scania`s when the other 4 turn up??

Great stuff. I don't think they are branding them as they are very likely to stray onto other services as they already have!

Is there any news on how long the B10B's are going to be around? Or 20451/63 for that matter!

I have no idea whats happening with the M reg B10b`s and 20451/63, but i know 20463 is very sluggish these days so time will tell.

I would hope they (B10B's) go when the last 4 Scans arrive and are in service. 20451/63 are officially in reserve and have been for ages so I guess they wanting to get rid of them when they can.

There'll be 1 more in addition to the 3 Tridents mentioned. If it's not an LF I suspect it'll be 14208.

However, if 18364 does come back then a Leyland leaving is almost certain IMHO.

X1 Lancaster Rail Station - Lancaster University

Following customer requests, this service will additionally serve the Northern Perimeter Road on the Uni campus. New bus stops will added by the University in due course.

A bus shuttle service between the bus station and train station wouldn't go amiss either.

I hear all hell broke loose this afternoon with the problems at Preston. The 40 we came back on from Garstang apparently had taken 2 hours to get there.

Just one of those things I guess, when Lancaster had those major works going on near the infirmary it got so bad they tried to get buses to the Uni along the motorway.

Sorry, forgot the time - this was (scrabbles for ticket) boarding at G'stang at 15:51 on the 22804. Old couple behind were telling others it had taken them 2 1/4 hours to get there. I hear the M6 was closed for 4 hours.

As stated before, it was between 32 (for Broughton) and 31A for red scar (which is only entry southbound and exit northbound anyway), so it knocked on to 31.
By lunchtime there was stationary traffic up to at least Barton Grange Hotel on the A6 trying to head south, the motorway southbound was slow/stationary from a vantage point on the A6 at Bilsborrow/Garden Centre.
Fylde Road has been shut all day for resurfacing so all traffic wanting the city from Water Lane to the University has been diverted up Garstang Road.
Sharoe Green Lane is shut between the Hospital and the College for resurfacing so once again all hospital traffic has to go via Garstang Road.
And to add to the misery, Ribbleton Lane is having ongoing resurfacing between Ackergate Lane and Ribbleton Hall Drive which has also caursed chaos this last few days along Ribbleton Lane and Blackpool Road.
Basicially... it couldn't of happened at a worse time... only saving grace is the schools are off and it wasn't a Friday!
Hands up who was happy to have a day off today
