It's back, but with a twist <D

Normally, the league table is worked out by adding up the points your players score each game, but this time, I've chosen a Head to Head league. This is where the team you pick goes up against another team in the league, with the team getting the most point picking up 3 points in the league.

Anyway, to join, head over to the Premier League Website and create your team, then join the RailUK Championship by using the invite code which is: League closed to new entries. Sorry

MAJOR EDIT :: Following a few posts, I've created the RailUK Premiership, which runs on the classic format. Points already scored should count. Anyway, the code you need to join the Premiership is :: 167951-339490

I signed up to this at the end of last season for a one-off round with my brother and father [how did dad win?!], so it saves a lot of registration!

Anyway, I'm in. You can guess which team is mine; it's the name I always use for fantasy football competition (starting with the World Cup anyway).

--- What do we think of Chris's name? LOL.

Also, a point to remember: Captain scores double.

I've decided to enter a team based on the spirit of Brian Clough that came to me in a dream yesterday after 12 pints of Stella down the pub watching the ladies darts match.

'Young man' said he 'With the help of my good self, the best ever manager in the history of football, you will win the league. Now get me a nice glass of sherry'.

I woke up in a sweat and thought 'Greenback, you shall enter the league!'.

I did come second in Fantasy Cricket in 1994, organised by my cricket team, of which I was captain of the 2nd team. I had an average of 2,00 with the bat that year (4 runs from 2 innings) and took 2 wickets for 32 runs in 2 overs. Which just about sums up my sporting prowess.

My brother may be entering this, but he's still only posted the once, the git! "I'll post more when you come back." ("You" equals Ivo.)

(I also know his team because we've got a family and friends one going, and as the traditional top two we always share our team lists to add some spice to the competition. Five of our 15 players are the same! - no longer true; both have changed)

Will the winner receive anything as a prize? Say, any Ranger ticket worth up to £50 (or a contribution of £50 for anything above that), paid for by all the losers?

Nah, it's a "just for fun" thing that I've been running on and off (through the Premier League website) for a few years now. Only prize involved is bragging rights.

13 teams signed up now. Remember, the Premiership starts this weekend, so If you want the best possible chance to win the RailUK Championship, you need to have your team registered in the league by 1130 Saturday.

PS. Just checked my team. Got 4 players listed as doubtful, and 1 definately out. Guess I've got to make a few changes ....

Just to let you all know, my brother *is* joining, but er... missed the deadline. Given his team does exist though, his points should still count. (It did last season.)

Not this season though !

I've changed the format, so instead of the "classic" game where all your players points count, it's now a "head to head" league, where your team plays another in the league, with the highest scoring team getting the 3 points.

Mind you, we're only 1 week in at the minute, so at worst, he'll only be 3 poins behind.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
16 teams in before the start of the season. Considering the lack of interest until the last few days, I'm impressed.

May the best team end up finish second to me <D

OK, i'm Ivo's brother and the system will let me enter so i'm just going to do it. I may miss out this first week and 3 potential points, but by the look of it i've got a decent team and know i'll more than make them up <D

My team name is Kasumi Rangers (based on the legendary Kasumi from Dead or Alive) - and the bad news for everyone else - especially you Ivo - is that I still have my good old friends Evra and Rooney to play :D

Disclaimer: I do not actually know Wayne Rooney or Patrice Evra personally, but I am a massive Red Devil so i like to think as much :D

EDIT: Ok... it won't let me in. Is the league full or the system screwy?

That's what you get for being lazy. You have weeks to enter, and can't be bothered until the day. Sorry mister. You can still beat me privately though!

Go on then  I will warn you though, Seto Kaiba will thrash you. And then lose to me :D

Does that mean your going to reopen your league for enteries, or do you want me to create the Lazy League ? :D

May I suggest making a 'classic' league which would be open to all late comers and those already in the head to head league?

*a classic league can be joined at any point in the season

You know, if I'd have joined the first week, I'd be second, 4 points behind the leader, but instead I'm stuck in fourth? Annoying :D
