Thanks ST. This is my first time through the process, so even if I'm successful at the interview, I've got all the psychometrics to face. I've only ever done the ones at the start of this recruitment drive, so not sure how I'll perform.

They must have thousands of people to get through. I started to wonder what was happening when I saw people on here saying they had interviews and psychometrics, then I got the invite. I have to say the recruitment is being handled very well considering the circumstances, so I have no doubt you'll get to the next stage when they get to you. I wouldn't like to guess what order they are dealing with people in, just wish you luck when you get the email.

I am sure you will be fine. I know it is obvious, but in my experience, I went through the material with a fine toothcomb. I practiced the Group Bourdon and put the rest down to the fact that if I meet the standard then I am suitable and if not, well there is always the next time. Don't over think it (I know it is easy for me to say) but be yourself, prepare on what is being suggested and enjoy it! All the best!

Thanks Coopes. Quite disappointed and have asked for feedback. They must look for a certain specific character and type of person capable for the nature of the job and I didn't meet their criteria in whatever way that was. Cest la vie.

Sometimes it’s not that you didn’t meet their criteria, but that there were so many candidates you just fell short of the benchmark due to the high standards of other applicants. You may have met all their standards, but at the end of the day, not everybody can be offered a job.

You’ve done the right thing in asking for feedback. So many people don’t bother but it’s vital if you want to try again if there’s areas highlighted by the interviewers.

anyone else off to York on Monday for Psychometrics?

I've downloaded the group bourdon ap and been practising on paper sheets too... im nervous mostly for the one where they show you an image for a second and you have to see what you saw... and the one whee you have to study a passage and recall information. Anyone else in my boat? I want this job so much and the nerves are kicking in!

Just relax if you can, the reading a passage test isn‘t bad, you get loads of time to look at it and then a period of time without the Passage before you answer the questions, I found myself just repeating key points in my head over and over. Try to enjoy the day if you can and good luck.

Yes apparently you can bit they get took away and then you wait for 5 minutes before getting the questions .... lol

The best way to prep for this is is to have a clear mind and pick out the key points.

I remember now, I found it strange to allow notes, only to remove them. Might as well not bother

The one that caught me out on the day was the tones and telephone directory. The tones came a lot faster than I had anticipated and I know I got 1 or 2 wrong. Thankfully I passed everything though.
