If it was recently then it could've been a Glasgow Central or Stirling service - assuming that the latter has restarted?
Or Inverness route? (just suggested that below/above)

Well, @route101 did say it wasn't around the time the Chieftain should have been through.Or Inverness route? (just suggested that below/above)
Was last week around 1230. Perhaps it was late running chieftain. If it was recently then it could've been a Glasgow Central or Stirling service - assuming that the latter has restarted?

Don't understand why Haymarket would get more azuma s?It seems for now in Haymarket they'll be more Azumas there than anywhere else par Inverness/Glasgow Central route, I remember last year I was on an Intercity train that ran late from Aberdeen and it caused confusion at Waverley (possibly lack of announcements) and things just about kicked off as passengers (well some) we're telling others to move from their seat (own experience I booked a seat just about got hassled to move but no one had explained what happened lucky enough fellow passenger assisted me to explain what happened). The only time I have had a bad experience with LNER.
I don't know the train routes off by hand, I just knew there was another area that LNER cover from this part of Scotland.

That's most likely, the southbound Glasgow Central is an early morning service. Was last week around 1230. Perhaps it was late running chieftain.
Aberdeen, Inverness and sole Glasgow service pass through Haymarket.
Not last week it wasn't. The line to Aberdeen would've been closed. That time you speak of is the one from Aberdeen, it departs Dundee at 1108 (its usually a train I get usually to head to Newcastle)

That's what I thought , it couldn't be Aberdeen. Not last week it wasn't. The line to Aberdeen would've been closed.
Pretty much, yes.I take it that the reason LNER and XC are not currently going through to Dundee is because there would be too many trains turning there, given tat the ScotRail trains are?
They could be, but the stoppers are still 158s as far as I've seen.On a semi-related note, the reduction in trains needed while the line up to Aberdeen is closed should mean all Dundee - Edinburgh / Glasgow services could be worked by refurbished 125s.
