For example, the Stagecoach white livery I count 7 different classes that have, at one point, worn this livery: HST, 158, 159, 222, 442, 444, 458.

Of course, some liveries were unique to a single TOC (including, I believe, all current liveries), while some were shared between TOCs (such as the various Stagecoach and FirstGroup liveries).

Just a minor curiosity - we might well not reach a final answer...

Not forgetting that the Stagecoach livery was applied to the seated sleepers pre privatisation

Would FGW Dynamic Lines count as a contender? So far I can think of HST, 166, 158 (?), and 143.
Or maybe GWR Green?

I would think that either First's Dynamic Lines (and variants) would take the record at 17 (unless I've missed any), although it does depend how tightly defined you want it to be!

FCC: 313, 317, 319, 321, 365, 377
FGW: HST, 57&Sleeper Mk3s, 143, 150, 153, 158, 165, 166, 180(+Hull Trains)
FTPE: 185, 350

The barbie livery also gets an honourable mention at 12
FScotRail: 156, 158, 170, 322
FGE: 321, 360
FTPE: 185
FNW: 323, 175
FGW: HST, 180
GBRf: 66

Dynamic Lines also found on 170s when they were with TPE IIRC

Dynamic lines. HST, 57, 143, 150, 153, 158, 165, 166, 170, 180, 185, 350. I'm not counting the FCC livery as that wasn't dynamic lines. FCC would add the 313, 317, 319, 365 and 377.

Barbie too. HST, 57, 90, 156, 158, 170, 321, 322, 323, 360, 175, 180. (ETA @Domh245 reminds me of the 66, which got it for freight)

I forgot a lot of those for the Dynamic Lines. :)
Could EWS count? I've got a book/magazine which covers privatisation liveries and I seem to remember that being a big section, but I can't remember exactly what clases carried it.

Barbie you can add in 66 as well, when GBRf was owned by First.

Although I don't recall the 57s in Barbie - didn't they go straight from fag pack green/gold to the Dynamic-lines-style all-over blue?

Yep, edited it afterwards as @Domh245 reminded me. Forgot about the 73 too. I added a few others I'd forgotten when I posted.

I thought the 57 did, but I could well be wrong.

08, 09, 31, 33, 37, 47, 56, 60, 66, 67, 90, 92. I'm sure I've forgotten one!

ETA, just thought, didn't one of the Laira 08s get dynamic lines, or have I just invented that?

That's definitely a contender then! :D
Laira 08s did get FGW Blue IIRC (or at least one FGW 08 did) but it wasn't Dynamic Lines so to speak, more just FGW Blue with logo. I'm probably wrong though!

I'd class that as a different livery to the ones carried by the Stagecoach franchises, though the early SWT livery (adapted from NSE) was very similar, before they adopted the different Metro/Suburban/Long-distance liveries.

Serco/Abellio Northern was carried by 142, 144, 150, 153, 155, 156, 158, 323 (and the mk2a coach at Eureka Halifax, but that's cheating a bit!). Had the West Yorkshire electric units also carried the livery, that would add another 3 classes (321/322/333), and the Manchester 319s which arrived before the handover would be another.

@Tetchytyke First Barbie was also carried by a handful of 185s, the first few were delivered that way but were revinyled into dynamic lines before entering service.

A Small number of GBRf's Class 73's also received Barbie too - This being 73141, 212 & 213, While First GBRf's IIA Coal Hoppers received a revised version with the First + Flying F + GBRf Coal branding. However, IIRC there may have been a "press wagon" with the Willow Leaf added as well.

Current ScotRail (SpotRail) livery has been carried on classes 314, 318, 320, 334, 380, 385, 156, 158, 170. Loco class 68 and the Fife circle mk 2 carriages, and possibly class 90? Don’t think it was ever applied to the Caledonian Sleeper coaches prior to splitting the franchise in 2015.

Class 90 I do not think so, at least one was in First Scotrail livery, but not the saltire, only loco to sport it have been the 68s.

Would it be really pedantic of me to claim that FGW wasn't the same Barbie as FSR, as FGW had a gold lining to it.

How about original Virgin red & black: mk2, mk3, Cl 47, 86, 87, HST

Although it’s evidently not the winning livery you can add 170 to the list of Stagecoach white livery (301-308/392 wore it as well).

To be even more pedantic then, at least a handful of First ScotRail's Caledonian Sleeper Mk3s briefly gained the gold version too, before being switched to the same white band / magenta used on the rest of the ScotRail fleet.

86261 and 86426 certainly carried it. 87101 received triple grey with RfD symbols but never EWS.
I knew at least one 86 had received EWS livery as i had it for haulage. Wasnt sure about 87 101

How many classes would either the SPT livery or the ScotRail 'Swoosh' livery that spanned pre-privitisation / National Express era have been carried on?

SPT Carmine and Cream was on 303, 314, 318, 320, 334 and 156. ScotRail swoosh was on 150, 156, 158, 170. Sleeper stock had a version of it but not full colour. Class 322s never got it.

I’ve seen pictures of several 170s in SPT C&C
