I've just travelled on a Great Western refurbished HST.
I'd seen them from the outside and they seemed claustrophobic and cramped, but when I actually travelled on one yesterday I was pleasantly surprised how much leg room there was, though I still think they're claustrophobic....
I got a Cross Country HST today and I have to say I'm pleased I was only on it for 50min. There was about the same legroom as on the EMT class 153 I got on next ! Still at least it means the Voyagers don't look as crap as they used to (in comparison to the HSTs).
Are there fewer seats on the Great Western HSTs ? If not how come there was so much more leg room ?
