from Stagecoach website. i like how 30A has been listed, even though the service was scrapped November 2009

also, a new road system layout in Carlisle started today, sending cars and light vehicles past the bus station to head south and east. a bus lane on Warwick Road is now standard use, making the road two-way after being one-way for many years. could result in problems with buses getting in and out of the bus station.

Apparently a team of bus boarders have been introduced to help people with mobility problems get on and off buses !!

Look out for some serious alterations to Prestons long distance routes coming up

Is this the changes announced today, on the StagecoachNW website, to the 61, 68, 125 and X59?

All routes are having additional journeys added to operate through to Preston College on college days only. The biggest change comes with the X59 which will change to the 59 and have Monday-Friday peak time journeys extend to Accrington, Great Harwood and Rishton. This is in addition to the college extension. The main idea is that college students from the Rishton, Great Harwood and Accrington areas will be able to use the service to travel through to the college. Though the service is open to all customers.

All changes to commence from the 5th September 2010.

PVR increase then? Could that be why 17021/16184 have gone down?

I have a feeling there may be big changes coming to the X61 service. have used it a few times in recent weeks, and it is often only 25% - 50% full at the best of times - we will have to wait and see, unless the people in the know on here can shed any more light.

These are the changes at the start of September Dave, AFAIK the changes that Gez is on about don't kick in until October. Sorry for the vagueness, but nothing has been made public.

More than likely, the routes will likely run as duplicates around the other services meaning of course extra buses and instead of going to the bus station continue directly to the college (seems a waste of time to run towards town especially on a 61 and 68 when the college is at that end of town). Could mean that 16328/352 will stay also and maybe a couple of the Chorley' depending whats being replaced at there end?

Moorclose this morning:
47060 on 50 (still wonky ;))
47005 on 51
:)

Common problem with the Solos, like you say bumpy roads and the supports used to mount the displays don't tend to mix. Has happened to several of our Ribble Valley branded examples, but AFAIK they have been fitted with extra or modified mounts now.
