Anybody doing the Spitfire tour this Saturday?

Got gen last week that DRS were unable to supply the 20 which means more 37s and decided to snap up flights. The 57/0 is an attraction as well.

I wonder will the same pair of 37s that work between Sheffield and Carlisle tag onto the back of the Carlisle-Newcastle leg with the 66 and work forward to Birmingham or will it be a different pair?

My understanding is that it will be 2 different pairs working this tour. They were quoting numbers on WNXX on Monday afternoon!

According to a post on wnxx this bit has been changed and the train is now booked via Perry Barr to Stetchford. Apparently the original times above included a run round of the 37s at New St which is why the route has been amended.

so there's a run around in Birmingham in the morning too, I had assumed we were going around the long way via Aston.

so there's a run around in Birmingham in the morning too, I had assumed we were going around the long way via Aston.

No run round as the train will be top and tailed, the 37s taking the train from International to New Street and then the 57 takes it forward to Sheffield where the 37s then take over again to Carlisle.

On the return its the 66 to Newcastle before this detaches and runs back to Carlisle, for the 37s to International which is why the route had to be amended.
