I always am unsure if, on the Swansea District Line, that after Felin Fran Halt you could have proceeded to Llandarcy Halt, before connection with the South Wales Railway.

I always am unsure if, on the Swansea District Line, that after Felin Fran Halt you could have proceeded to Llandarcy Halt, before connection with the South Wales Railway.

You could get to the South Wales Railway main line via Llandarcy, but the way I read the map it would mean traversing a short section of the Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway between Dynevor Junction and the chord at Briton Ferry which links the R&SBR and SWR (Cwrt Sart Junction). I suppose it depends on whether or not this counts as part of the Swansea District Line. In modern usage it seems to.

Update - after 1906 it seems that the Rhondda & Swansea Bay Railway was operationally part of the GWR (although not fully absorbed until 1922) so from then onward the R&SBR link would have been considered part of the Swansea District Line, I think. So it seems either route is a valid interpretation of the itinerary.
