Quick one I've thought of for the second bit, Bishop Auckland - Saltburn. Bishop Auckland is definately single track and Saltburn probably does count as only one platform is ever used (apart from special trains).

I don't think Saltburn counts if it has more than one track and platform (which I think the OP meant!), and the last time I passed through Stourbridge Junction had more than one track!

On the other hand, there's Looe and Liskeard - it's a seperate station at the latter!

True, but the wait at St Davids is so long in some cases that it may as well be two separate services. When I did this run in April, it had a 24-minute wait.

As for the question, I would like to propose the Borderlands Line. This is dependant on whether the West Kirby route is considered a "main line" or "branch line" (or, indeed, as neither).

I can think of the daily Drumgelloch-Balloch service that used to run in the early morning. Normally, Drumgelloch trains would run to Helensburgh Central, with Balloch runs starting at Airdrie or Springburn.

However, that's purely academic. Drumgelloch is now closed and demolished, and the new station will be double tracked and have trains going all the way to Edinburgh.

A bit dubious but the cross city line, Redditch and could you count Lichfield T V high level because it has a single platform?
