20962 on short 300.
20994 on standard 300.
16733, 34616 and 35247 on 30 and 31.
47006 and 47061 on Seaton.
47059 and 47617 on Harrington.
47060 has sat at Moorclose stand for quite a while. inspector had the hose pipe out on it before, it has sat there since!
20913 on Staff Shuttle. 47007 sat on annexe a long time after doing staff shuttle, while 20129 had been in and out on 50!

17017 to Lillyhall seems an odd one! it wouldn't handle a 300, not sure how it'd cope on 30 and 31 either!

Aparently theres quite a few R-reg deckers that are suffering from chassis corrosion and they are using the S-reg tridents and a couple of the 05/55`s to replace them.

47007 went out on 50 after 47060 died. 47060 finally exited bus station, not sounding very happy!

Makes you really wonder why 17017 is heading up here to be honest. Not many other service options!

looked to be the 1415 50 when 47060 died. 20129 went out on 50 at 1420-ish, and was still working 50 on the 1545 (running rather late by this point).

a 2005 Trident would have been better for LL than 17017. it'd be better as a cover bus for 300!

Agree, 18364 would have been a better choice to send here. At least stagecoach are sending something instead of leaving Lillyhall to cope with what its got! If its no good at covering the 300 (if thats what they do 'intend' to use it for) it won't be used again and it can go back

The half-hourly shuttle service to be used for the Harrington A597 closure will be service 53, "ROADWORKS SHUTTLE -WORKINGTON CIRCULAR via MOORCLOSE - BRIERYDALE - SALTERBECK - MOSSBAY"

STAGECOACH WELCOMES RESOLUTION OF FUTURE OF PRESTON BUS

· Competition Commission agrees sale of slightly smaller package

· Negotiated settlement acknowledges concerns about initial decision

Stagecoach confirmed today 16th July 2010 that it has negotiated a satisfactory resolution of the future of its Preston Bus business.

Preston Bus Ltd was acquired by Stagecoach in January 2009 and the matter was referred to the Competition Commission. The Commission ruled in November 2009 that the Preston Bus business and some other separate Stagecoach operations in Preston should be divested.

Stagecoach fundamentally disagreed with the ruling and in December 2009 appealed the Commission's decision to the Competition Appeal Tribunal ("CAT"). The CAT ruled in May 2010 that a number of the Commission's findings were not supported by the evidence in the case.

Following the CAT announcement, Stagecoach has been in discussions with the Competition Commission to reach a resolution of the matter.

Stagecoach can confirm that the Competition Commission has agreed that a slightly reduced divestment package will now be offered for sale. The Competition Commission has also published a statement on its website acknowledging the CAT's judgment that a number of conclusions that the CC reached in its decision were not supported by the evidence.

A Stagecoach spokesman said: "We are pleased that we have reached a satisfactory resolution of the future of Preston Bus. The agreement acknowledges the concerns of Stagecoach and the CAT about how the initial decision was reached and the impact on the proportionality of the divestment order. As a result, we will now proceed to offer a slightly smaller package for sale than previously ordered by the Commission.

"We look forward to moving ahead with a sale process that will ensure we receive a commercial price for the business. The negotiated settlement will also provide more certainty for employees and passengers, as well as avoiding any further future unnecessary costs to the taxpayer and Stagecoach."

52626 and 52627 have been on the 685 newcastle turns today

makes a change both of them being on at the same time!

i'm told 17017 is coming to Lillyhall as a replacement for 16652, of which is apparently another chassis victim. that isn't confirmed information though so could be incorrect! (wouldn't surprise me if it was 16647 that was a chassis victim! 16648 and 14469 were/are!)

This is the next movements when we get the 4 remaining scania's;
17019-chorley
17020-to stay at morecambe(new engine)
17022-carlisle??
17023-to stay at morecambe(cctv)
17024-to stay at morecambe(cctv)
183xx-????

If the Leylands and Olys are all staying and we are losing nearly all our S reg's I would hope that ME will put in for another decker order before long, be it new or more cast offs like the 2005 Tridents.

It seems the X22 is the replacement for the X12. So rather then having 3 nice new buses and a frequent service we get 2 journeys a day like it used to be. Cheers Cameron.

Don't see why Kendal need 18364, they have spare tridents and don't need them for schools I'm sure. If its a replacement for 16185 they should just send an Oly, 16877 for example, I think its the same as 16185. IN FACT if a Trident is going to Preston that will probably replace an Oly so Kendal could just have 16328 back...

I'm taking all these movements with a pinch of salt as we all know they could change in the 11th hour lol.

Going back to the E300's on other routes, last year i saw a Carlisle Citi branded E300 on the 600 in Whitehaven. Can't remember which one though. I've quite like seeing deckers on the 30/31, when the E300's shuffle off i think Deckers would be a good replacement, there are certainly some journeys where they would be better off, as much as i enjoy being on a packed E300 on the 30/31 from Workington to Whitehaven... Although i normally wait for the next 300 :D

When all the MANs are all avalible for service this leaves one spare at Carlisle, this is used on either the 38 or 600 so it is handy to get if required in Carlisle Bus Station.

Nice pics of KL stuff at ME on Jonesy's fotopic! Could it be that 14199 and 14248 don't return to KL as I think the have been due for withdrawal for a while...also if its true that the Schoolrunners are been withdrawn as the capacity isn't needed they may not return to Kl either!

I doubt that there is much truth in that, if they had corroded chassis they wouldn't still be using them.

Well, i assume it was 16649 and not 14469, yes that bus needs replacing due to a rotting chassis, and yes it was in service yesterday, as i drove it..

Its like having an advisory on an MoT, the chassis is ok for now and within legal parameters, but the next time its going to need an MoT you can be sure it will fail as the rate the problem is getting worse will take it beyond the legal parameters by then..

Hopefully that explains it a little for you :)

17017 to Lillyhall seems an odd one! it wouldn't handle a 300, not sure how it'd cope on 30 and 31 either!

300/1 would kill the gearbox... 30/31 would be the ideal use... At least there would be a Low Floor decker on the Decker time slot!!

If it is coming for service, it will be used on the 30/31 Double Deck allocation, increasing L/F provision on that service. (As I assumed yesterday)
Hopefully we will get a couple of extra L/F saloons too, but I haven't heard anything yet.

That is good news... It will certainly make for some "different" photographic subject matter, if anything! (The first ALX400 in service in west cumbria?)
But as you say, with any luck some extra LF saloons will follow suit!

34079 has failed outside the bus station, just off the bus annex (engine trouble, again i'd say). Egertons Recovery truck getting ready to tow it away XD usual suspects of RossWatson and Cainebj there when I drove past, so i'd say expect pics soon! An R-reg B10M was on 47, B10M been on 51 all day as well to add - but 47006 was on its way.
