Unfortunately that would be the case yes, we could do with a couple more low floor saloons, but there's nothing coming anytime soon that i'm aware of.

33143 (or another Spryte bodied Dennis Dart!) has been painted and was/still is at lillyhall??

That one is the best of the batch
The aforementioned free shuttle from Workington Bus Station up the Harrington and back could cause a few problems in the bus station. There isn't really a stand available for it. Things do tend to get very congested as it is! Looks like they'll use B10M's...

They will probably use the same stands as they did when the Footbridge Shuttle was in operation. A? And yes most likely B10M's which will cause it to be even more congested!. Traffic will be bad I think :roll:

It is still at Lillyhall, but does not have sufficient seating capacity for 30/31 services, and is too big in width/length for most of the local "minibus" services.

Yeah I though that :/ could do service 2 in whitehaven and the normal dart (if available) on there could do 30/31, at a push!

Yes I think it is, I'm not sure what the something special would be lol. I wonder if an Oly will leave Preston when the Jonck goes back down.

It's there for storage until needed, there have been buses there for over a year that haven't moved, such as 20859, 20317, 20319, 20894, plus a few old Leyland Oly's. Some are reserve, others disposal.

A Scania should only be off duty when it is being serviced, it's unlikely that they will stray onto other routes as they are being route branded, the service will also be named. don't know what yet but It'll be something like "Urban Connect", which seems to have caught on in Chorley, Preston and Barrow!

Well, route branded, i've seen a MAN E300 on 51 twice lol but yeah I get what you mean. It used to be called something a while back when it was Cumberland Motors. Urban Connect sounds good, ain't such bad branding either!

Branding makes it even more annoying when a bus strays onto another service lol. We only have the Versa's with branding and they stay on the 6/6a 99% of the time unless they are on a one off X1 or an evening 3a.

Well, route branded, i've seen a MAN E300 on 51 twice lol but yeah I get what you mean. It used to be called something a while back when it was Cumberland Motors. Urban Connect sounds good, ain't such bad branding either!

MAN's appeared on X5 a few times just after the floods as well, but didn't do a full length route. it was mainly to catch up with delayed runs.
they've been on 31A as well, and i'm pretty sure 1 has also ventured onto the 22!

it would be good if they brought back the Border Clipper name, but i doubt they'd do that!

Really? I can't say I've ever seen that! I have seen them on SL Contract and 31A's though.

Indeed haha and you said that the spryte dart was too big - ok, the unfortunate E300 was on for about two runs before it got behind schedule probally having difficulty twisting its way through wastwater avenue lol ooo ones been on northside too!

The Border Clipper thats the one! Would have been good bringing it back.

i forgot about one being on 48! i got a very poor picture of it on there as well! it went onto schools later that day as well, while B10M's were on 30 and 31.
if that was at Carlisle, the low floor would have been swapped with a step entrance on the low floor service! :roll:

Value for money an issue for Cumbrian bus passengers

Value for money is what Cumbrian bus passengers are most unhappy about, a new survey has revealed.
Of the 850 Cumbrian passengers polled, 26 per cent were dissatisfied with the value for money their bus journey offered. And 25 per cent were unhappy with the frequency of services. The results come after Stagecoach bus fares went up by an average of six per cent in February 2009.
Phil Smith, operations director of Stagecoach in Cumbria, said: “The bulk of bus service throughout Cumbria are provided on a commercial basis and are not subsidised by the local authority.
“In a rural county like Cumbria it is always more difficult to provide commercial bus services.
“The levels of people that use them vary – more people use them in summer than in winter. It has a bearing on what level bus fares are set at.
“In all the areas where we operate in Cumbria passengers benefit greatly from multiple useage tickets.”
The survey, by the independent watchdog Passenger Focus, also discovered 88 per cent of Cumbrians were happy overall with bus services. Overall satisfaction with the county’s major operator, Stagecoach, was rated at 87 per cent.
Of those polled, 90 per cent were satisfied with their ability to get a seat on Cumbria’s buses and 84 per cent were happy with the length of time their journey took. Around 79 per cent were happy with how smooth their ride was, 78 per cent were happy with their bus’ punctuality, and more than three-quarters of passengers were happy with the length of time spent waiting for the bus.
The survey comes as part of a nationwide drive by Passenger Focus. to improve bus services. Julie Warburton, Passenger Focus manager, said: “Our research has found that most people are happy with many aspects of bus services in Cumbria.
“However, over a quarter of fare-paying passengers were dissatisfied with value for money and a quarter were also unhappy with the frequency of buses.
“We have explained these findings to Cumbria County Council and Stagecoach and is pressing them to focus their efforts on delivering what passengers want.”
Over 18,500 passengers took part in the survey nationwide.

The following movements to happen in the next two weeks,
