The Parkin Mk1 and Harris Mk2 books do deal with internal fittings for those respective 'Marks' of coach of that's any use?

Could you be more specific about what you are looking for?

The OPC trilogy "The Illustrated History of LMS Standard Coaching Stock" (for example) runs to over 600 pages and has a wealth of official drawings, photographs and text relating to both interiors and exteriors. A snip at just under £85 for set as published in the 1990s. Of course this only covers one company and one period.

Not all stock is as well covered.

No specific request. There just dont seem to be many books on train carriage interiors. Ive got pictures of all stock emu dmu etc. With the exception of scotrail class 158 first class prior to 1994 and first class on class 319 during the network south east years. The internet is a gold mine though for finding pictures of carriage interiors. However ive never found a picture of those ive just mentioned.

On the Class 158s it is most unfortunate that the definitive Regional Railways Story doesn't include any reference to ScotRail's unique first class. Neither does Modern Railways' report on the first class re-launch (July 1993) include any illustrations.

All the more regrettable as I travelled on the Class 158s virtually daily from the very first day of public operation in Scotland for the next few years but can't find a relevant personal photo either.

i think one day a photo(s) may prop up on the internet someday. i emailed colin marsden last year. even he said he didnt have a photo of the scotail first class on class 158 from 1990-1994. luckily there is photo of the intercity first class interior on the cross country class 158 during the 90s and virgin xc years in the modern locomotives illustrated magazine. quite a rare find.

I take it you mean the pool of 2Z, 2D, 2E, 2F and 3A vehicles (and later some 2A) dedicated to the Glasgow-Edinburgh & Glasgow/Edinburgh-Aberdeen services in the 1980s?

If so, all retained normal BR interiors including seat moquette material, the only changes were external - to livery (all bar one 2D TSOT and both 2A vehicles), and internally the only alterations were the conversion of the Mk3A FO to CO in 1985.
