The Foxhill bound 3 uses this stop as well! It's to stop people from gathering outside the bus station and potentially hindering people trying to enter it from social distancing.
The 5 and 41 have been moved to the Ambury as well, to annoy the users I assume!

1 is 6 on a Saturday now (but only for a 3 hour window).
3A/4 interwork on a 9 bus PVR.
U1/3 in 1st Semester was as high as 30-32 with all the dupes. 2nd Semester slightly lower at 20.
U5/6 interwork on a 7 vehicle PVR.

I believe the 1 starts there as well. The U5 is the really odd one, supposedly starting/ending at the St James' Parade stop just off the one way system. Think only the 9 was officially still stopping there pre-Civil!

I was just doing Monday-Friday but it's interesting that the 1 requires 6 buses at times on a Saturday.
3A/4 definately interwork on a 10 bus PVR.
I know the U1/U3 is high but I cant remeber how many it uses.
For the U5/U6 I felt like they must interwork because I checked the timetable for it but wasnt 100% sure. Will be interesting to see what happens to this route and the PVR when the U6 gets extended.

It was upped to 6 due to the inevitable high levels of Saturday traffic in the centre. Often at least 3 of the boards were deckers!

3A/4 may well be 10 now, they may have upped that due to reliability issues!

The interworking on the U5/6, as stated previously, is to allow driver changes to take place at the bus station. Thus what vehicle works what can be very random. Usually a bus will remain on the U6 for a good two hours on average!

This morning only 33857 is tracking on the 19. With all the Scanias now presumably doing X39s & 39 shorts, could some of the recently arrived E400s have entered service?

Hmm the 178 definitely needs these doubles, especially when the 172 skips Paulton. I'm onboard a B9tl currently, and I was the last person allowed on. There are people at every stop, so it seems everyone is wanting to go shopping.

You also have a few going to/from The Globe at various points of the day. Presumably this is to cater for the start/end of driver shifts. I reckon you're right, it could be as high as 7 or 8!
Morning peak

0600 ex Bath does 0700 ex Bristol arr Bath 0752
0630 ex Bath does 0730 ex Bristol arr Bath 0822
0646 ex Globe does 0738 ex Bristol arr Hicks Gate 0800 for 0802 dep
0701 ex Globe does 0753 ex Bristol arr Hicks Gate 0815 for 0817 dep
0716 ex Globe does 0808 ex Bristol arr Hicks Gate 0830 for 0832 dep
0731 ex Globe does 0823 ex Bristol arr Hicks Gate 0845 for 0847 dep

So I think it's 4 buses shuttling during the day with a couple extra at peak. Haven't worked out the evening but it looks a similar pattern. You could make the argument that the 0530 ex Bath won't be back til 0722 and so can't do the 0731 ex Globe so that could be 7 if you're stretching it.

36815 worked the 1308 (I think) but don't know if that was working for Bath or if it was the bus station spare or if it's a scheduled run (by Hengrove?) so a Bath driver can have a break!

36815 has been working for Bath recently, so I assume Bath do everything? It's 814 that's at Hengrove.

Possibly some of the drivers might take relief breaks at Bristol Bus Station (as many Weston drivers do), being relieved by the drivers who bring in buses from Bath during the daytime?

The way I read this, I thought 36815 was a Hengrove. Never mind - whatever it is, it was on the 39 today.

The other option could be to use the 5 remaining diesel Scanias (36814-5/22-24) that haven't received either Aquae or m2 livery. I'm pretty certain the 37/178 PVR is normally 5, so that would be ideal!

Oh I do apologise! All the ones that were at LH have now moved out, with 815/822/824 working in Bath, and 814/823 in Hengrove! These moves weren't reported by Steve, so probably aren't that well known I suspect!

There has been all sorts on the 39, I have seen an Urban E400, a 12 plate B9, an older B9, an Urban Scania and an aquae scania.
Quite a bit of variation then, with the B9 in the photo as well! (I assume one of 37406/10). What's the PVR of these 39s, 4 or 5?
A Bath driving one of these said there is 5 buses out on the 39.

Correct, the 39 trips to and from Newton St Loe - The Globe are ran empty either to or from Bath Depot. The drivers are having breaks in Bristol and keep the same bus all day.

For Hicks Gate services they display ‘Brislington’ and ‘Hicks Gate’ in small letters and the Newton St Loe services just display ‘The Globe’

BD12 TCU broke down in Wells today due to the battery being flat. SN12 AEG had to be brought out to replace it. SN12 AEJ is apparently very sluggish at the moment aswell.

Interesting variety indeed!

I have seen 'The Globe' as a display on the U5 too, think the driver put it in wrong one time. It looked rather odd on 32069's flipdot display!!

Yes indeed.

You would have thought they would have had it as ‘Newton St Loe’ in big letters with ‘The Globe’ in the smaller letters to the right by the number. Not everyone knows what village ‘The Globe’ is in.

The 5 in Bristol is back in to diesel operation. The gas buses must be being used by Lawrence Hill again. This was today in the hands of 2 B9s, 37334 and 37356.

The T2 also is a B9 with 37344 doing the honours.

I always thought it was just The Globe because it didn't fit but it does and it would be way more clear than the name of a roundabout.

Ah but the bus doesn't go into the village. Newton St Loe is up the hill whereas the Globe is actually in the middle of nowhere.

True, but it would give a better indication of the area, not just a landmark which may not be known by all.

Newton St Loe, The Globe is how it is described in the timetable and the address on the The Globe’s website is also Newton St Loe. There is also a pub in Frampton Coterall called ‘The Globe’ which could cause confusion to some.

Exactly. I think the destination should always say the name of the area/town/village/city they are going to and the stop they terminate at

Well one thing’s for sure not many will be travelling to The Globe for a drink at the moment!
