I'm sorry but you're not answering a very simple question. You must have left First Midland Red before December 2013 - when was it?

As I stated in post 79 I have been in my current post for nearly five years.

As I stated in post 83
I have NEVER worked in any capacity with Nigel Eggleton at First Midland Red. The work I currently undertake brings me occasionally into contact with him and the current management team at First Midland Red.

I've just realised that he has previously stated on another forum that he did First Worcester Accounts, but not full time - indeed only while he was doing a 5 year accounting degree.
He made various absurd comments there as well.......

Oh I did a lot more than that at Midland Red West over many happy years and I have not intended to make any absurd comments on this forum merely to put the record straight after The Great Wazzos post about Midland Red West

I have no intention of posting on any other subject on this forum other than First Midland Red & Diamond Bus.

You are then very aware of the position I hold currently in the West Midlands.

I find nothing to admire in the current management structure and wonder what on earth you find to praise given the disaster of The Salt Road & Nimrod reflecting how out of touch the company management is to its employees and passengers.

Out of interest what would you have done differently to try and grow the market on the remaining network, rather than more cutbacks on retrenchment?

Yes, we recognise that.
  • You have been in your current role since 2015.
  • You left First Midland Red before Nigel Eggleton arrived.
However, what you seem not to be able to say when you actually ceased to work for First Midland Red. You did "a lot more than that at Midland Red West over the years - when were those years?

"Over 30 years direct experience working in the bus industry with perhaps working for the best bus company in England as indicated by my posts eventually to be head hunted by an newly created transport body advising a metro mayor on policy for the future of bus services in a metropolitan area - and yourself?"

This is post #45. In post #79 "I have been in my current position in the bus industry for nearly five years." So left First in 2015 or 2016.
So if Nigel Eggleton arrived at First Midland Red in 2013 (if that is right), then richardjones1 either worked with him or was in a different bit of First (Remote Office?) possibly dealing with its administration, or some other 'Birnam Wood moving unto Dunsinane' type technicality.

All a bit bizarre trying to make a fool of TGW and not being too successful either!

It's a very simple question. Given the strong affinity and affection that he has for First Midland Red, you'd expect he'd be able to say when he ceased to work there?

In no way have I set out to make a fool of The Great Wazoo. I have the greatest respect for the gentleman for his knowledge of the bus industry.

Indeed we have a mutual friend who I would in no way upset by upsetting The Great Wazoo. Indeed he made it abundantly clear not to upset The Great Wazoo

I simply wished to challenge the outsiders view of the unfortunate events that have befallen Midland Red West over the years.

I sincerely apologise to The Great Wazoo if that was the impression that has been given it was certainly not my intention.

Not asking about your personal history. It's your relevant professional history that is pertinent to this discussion.

You've kindly shared that you have spent nearly five years in your current role, and have no wish to pry further there. You have said that you have never worked under Nigel Eggleton so you left before Dec 2013.

It is entirely pertinent to enquire, so when you did leave the employment of First Midland Red?

ps Good to know you don't with to upset The Great Wazoo <:D....whoever that is

Due to highly sensitive nature of my work after Midland Red West I would rather not be specific on that area of my professional life and keep it to matters of insight into the company.

If I recall correctly, you've said elsewhere that you are a partner in a family accountancy business and did, until last year (?) also collect data about West Midlands bus operators and services.
Didn't you also claim that you could calculate the profitability of individual routes, seemingly across West Midlands operators - a claim which was roundly amusing to those who clearly were in a better position to know the real facts.

We're not asking you about the nature of your work or asking you to divulge any sensitive information. Just when you left their employment?

Could we stop bickering please!
Yes I do think FMR has declined significantly but I don't think it matters who worked where for how long and who lives where!

I think it was important, if only to understand their experience and insight.

However, I think we can agree that MRW/FMR has declined significantly during the tenure of First Group, and that does close the circle.

Sorry been out for my evening run I am not being deliberately evasive I really do not want to comment on specific dates it's a rather sensirive matter however I fully agree that after the great days of Midland Red West being part of Badgerline Holdings & FirstBus since 2013 First Midland Red has declined significantly under its current management at FirstGroup .

That is entirely true and is no longer amusing to those you quote that thought they were in a better position to know having had all the information I posted about myself to be proved to be completely true and correct to them subsequently ironically.

You know that's incorrect, but I'm aware that this is not the place to pursue it. I think it's probably better to leave matters alone. I'll make no further comment.

Ha Ha very funny feel free to check with them you will have a big shock and the only Land of Make Make Believe I live in is Bucks Fizz. I have long past justifing myself to you or anybody and what this has to do with Midland Red West is beyond me.

I'm afraid you're wrong on this occasion, everything he has claimed to be on the WMBus forum is true and I can vouch for that.

Grampian putting Moir Lockhead as First CE and selecting Aberdeen as head office meant that (and still means that) most major decisions were being dictated down with no wiggle room for the local operators.

I would agree that 20 years ago that was the case but it certainly isn't now. Aberdeen is the head office only in name, in reality most admin functions are now done elsewhere.
