It then follows the line of the GNoS Strathspey Railway
It then follows the line of the GNoS Keith and Dufftown Railway...beware of heritage stations, both open and closed
It then follows the line of the Great North of Scotland Main Line
It then follows the line of the GNoS Denburn Valley Line
It then follows the line of the Deeside Railway
It then follows the line of the Aboyne Extension Railway

I was in trepidation of wondering if Aviemore (Speyside) would qualify as a closed station as it was demolished in 2013, but did it actually close?

If I'm right concerning Rule 3: (paraphrasing) If a heritage railway first created it, and then closed or otherwise got rid of it, it nonetheless doesn't count.

Indeed this is so and Rule 3 has two stated examples of stations both opened then closed by a heritage railway. Aviemore (Speyside) as discussed above is one of these and the other one is Strathisla Mills (opened 1985 and closed 1993) which we will come across soon when we reach the line of the GNoS Keith and Dufftown Railway on this journey.
