OK, I'll accept that the 42 is separate and normally MAN operated.

However, 40/1 PVR is still 8 - so the only time you'll see Tridents on there is when the N230UDs are VOR for maintainence/servicing.

Bus Driver of the Year
Stagecoach North West boasts no less than three entrants in this year’s Bus Driver of the Year competition to be held at Blackpool in September.
West Cumbria driver Andrew Stewart, Preston driver John Quarrel and Carlisle driver Stuart Farquhar have all qualifed in local heats and are in contention for the title. The national competition, now in its 44th year, is designed to test the driving skills and knowledge of entrants while helping to raise standards in the bus and coach industry. Stagecoach North West Managing Director Chris Bowles said: “All three have worked really hard to qualify for the competition and we wish each of them well in September.”

in other news:
you's have only 9 weeks left to get a picture of Vario 42545 (P545 PNE) as Osprey Bus if you're wanting one! it won't be out there next season! the last timetabled date is Tuesday 31st August 2010. not too sure why its finishing in the middle of the week!

Its all about money. I think Manchester is now SC's biggest profit area as they dropped out of London several years ago. So high passenger usage and large profits mean they put all their money into Manchester. That's how I understand it anyway I stand to be corrected!!!

Geordie back from exile.
Hey up cainebj. The thing I liked about the Bright Tech desties is that as an electrician fixing the things there was never a shortage of work. I was always picking up the green and black halves off the bottom of the destination box and snapping them back onto the grid. As for the tensioning wires...don't get me started. Wonderful screens and absolutely made their contribution but way too complicated for bus work.

Very well put Cumbrian Lad. Manchester has a high turnover of buses, but NW ranks in the top 10 I think for ongoing investment.

20952 - is this withdrawn to be fixed, or withdrawn to be sold?

Had a drive through Whitelund this evening ans spotted the rear end of one of KL's Tridents (the one with the rear advert). Then the usual B10's and Leylands along the back fence. One of the S reg Tridents was over the out door pit thing. No sign of the Scanias!

Most likely! Looks like CE's Joncks are suffering from overheating due to the "hot" weather. They dropped like flies last summer at LL

why, stagecoach, why?!? surely not necessary
suppose it 'could' become regular! now that it isnt really needed as our solo numbers are looking good for town services

Solo's have been behaving themselves rather well recently! wait until they start breaking again, then there'll be shortages of minibuses yet again!

47005, 47006, 47059, 47060, 47062 and 47474 in Workington today.
34079 on schools, 47024 on SL Ltd and Staff.
42025 will have been on 58 most likely.
leaving 47007, 47023, 47061, 47616 and 47617 to cover the 3 needed in Whitehaven and 1 in Maryport (47061 must have been in Maryport, cos it went through Workington on its way to Lillyhall this evening!)

its strange how suddenly there is enough mini's when we've lost the small darts and in theory 34079 which helped out and we've gained 1 new solo - which i hope stays in one piece! = no need for step entrance buses
