A dimly-lit and flickering light bulb moment.
Commuter frequencies in to Manchester are poor and are simply not fit for purpose for a city of it's size. Therefore, could TfW services become all-stop services north of Crewe or Wilmslow, and mirror the Northern commuter services? I understand that timings north of Wilmslow for TfW are similar to Northern stoppers, therefore why not stop?
Secondly, could this be rolled out elsewhere for long distance services that are not ‘proper’ intercity services?
