HOLD CALLED
The journey preamble states that after the Y&NMR Harrogate to Church Fenton Line, we then take the NER Wetherby to Cross Gates Line..... This is done by taking the junction after Spofforth, before Wetherby (York Road) is reached, therefore the first closed station on the new line would be that of.....

ADJUDICATION
In answer to a query that was raised in the post, in 2019, a learned rail historian with connections to the archive section of the line in question gave his responses to a number of queries that were raised on the Leeds and Selby Railway including newer stations that were built on the line of this particular railway. One concerned the station at Barnbow (closed in 1924), where after the end of the First World War, there were a number of passenger trains open to use by the general public in the period of 1922 to 1924 until closure to passengers and then goods ceased. At the start of the Second World War, the site was then used by the Government for the new ROF Leeds, so therefore, basing the use for passengers prior that from 1922 onwards, it will be allowable to use Barnbow as a posting submission on this quiz.

We next move to Wales for the next journey.....
