After reading the thread on services that see the most varied stock, I thought it would be interesting to see which station sees the most varied stock.

Surely that could be Clapham Junction? Maybe Birmingham New Street could be a candidate too?

Surely that would be Clapham Junction, with London Bridge and Stratford following behind?

I wouldnt be so sure about that,

Clapham Junction is served by 377, 455, 444, 450, 456, 458, 707 and 378 which is 8 types of stock.

There are definitely a lot of stations served by more types of stock than that!

Surely you'd see 158s, 159s, 442s, 377s and 387s also there too though? And yes, I'm certainly not answering that definitively!

Motherwell, no question about it. 18 types of stock calling there on passenger service during any one day since the start of the year.

Not gonna count Glasgow Central given it's on 2 different levels, whereas Motherwell it's all on the same concourse.

And that's just for passenger service. Regular freight appearences include 66s, 67s, 86s, 87s, 68s, 88s, 90s, 92s, as well as ECS movements involving the Fife Mk2s

Just an example (which maybe hard to beat!):

Manchester Piccadilly: 390, 221, 220, HST, 185, 397, 802, 68, 319, 323, 331, 195, 158, 175, 150, 153, 156, 144

Does Manchester Picc have an actual diagramed HST service or is it just more of a sub in basis?

If Manc was 18, like Motherwell, then I'd look at Motherwell and say that it had the advantage over actually having diagramed stock runs that comprise of up to 18 different types of MUs/LHCS per day in passenger service, rather than sub ins?

EDIT: Never mind, as HST (presumably XC on an emergency basis) can be subbed in for the regular TfW Mk3 services.

Totally forgot about the diesel services, my brain isnt working today.

Dont think you'd see 387s stopping though, they only pass through on Gatwick express services. Only if Southern used a 387 to substitute for a 377, which is not a regular sight (at least with the normal timetable, right now this is probably occuring due to there being no Gatwick express services meaning the 387s would otherwise sit idle)

Glasgow Central on a normal day would have 14: 390, 221, 220, 801, 397, 350, 185, 156, 334 (Low Level), 318, 320, 380, 385, Sleeper

Manchester Piccadilly never had 144s. It had 142s until COVID-19 reduced services. The HST used to be a summer Saturday working to Newquay

However don't forget freight there, 66s, 70s, 86s in pairs, 90s and 92s. The 67 used to do the North Wales services pre-COVID-19. Who knows whether it'll return.

You can remove the HST as there are no booked workings to Manchester (but very occasionally they work in disruption). Likewise no 144s now, but you can add TfW Class 67 workings.

On a normal timetable some of the late evening Victoria - Brighton "Southern" services are 387s.
