Change to Lancashire Services

Timetable changes

Service Update

From Sunday 27th June, the following changes will be made to part of our Lancashire Network:

Service 42 Lancaster – Garstang – Blackpool

Kirkby Lonsdale Mini Coaches will operate the following Monday to Saturday journeys on behalf of Lancashire County Council:-
1900, 2015 & 2130 Lancaster to Blackpool
2015, 2130 & 2245 Blackpool to Lancaster

Valid Stagecoach tickets will continue to be accepted for travel.

Service 74 Fleetwood – Cleveleys – Thornton – Poulton – Blackpool

Lancashire County Council will revise the timetable, withdrawing the daily evening journeys between Blackpool and Cleveleys Pheasant Wood.

Service 74 was introduced by Lancashire County Council in September 2009 to replace a number of withdrawn services in Wyre and Blackpool. The decision, to withdraw the daily evening journeys, follows the six monthly reviews which showed the number of passengers travelling after 1900 was extremely low. The majority of those currently travelling on Service 74 have alternative services available for their journey.

There are no changes to the daily daytime timetable and Stagecoach will continue to operate this service, on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

as was made public yesterday, Cumbria County Council is being forced to return £1.7m of its transport funding back to the new government (approximately a quarter of their transport fund).
as part of this, some county council routes are being put under review.
the first one under review to be made public, is LL's Maryport - Cockermouth 58 (the Cockermouth - Tallentire side and the Cockermouth Main Street - Beech Lane side wern't mentioned). delays across the route and the falling demand from passengers has put the route under review. not sure if they'll be making major changes to the route, or axing it all together!
from what i can gather, NOTHING under contract to Cumbria County Council is safe for the time being (changes to school contracts will be under review as well, with a possibility of free transport provisions for sixth form students being removed!)

The review for the 58 service is for the opposite reasons, it is due to an increase in passenger numbers especially at peak times causing reliability problems, as when the timetable was introduced CCC never took into account that the buses would be full.

The Preston College job involves two extra buses the council are not using tendered services this coming year, instead students get Megariders of various types like Cardinal Newman college students do now, which will allow them to use our buses, the numbers involved mean an extra service from up here and another from Garstang. Preston depot are running a shutlefrom the bus station to the college all day

16657 and another Oly heading through town past the courts at about 8.30ish. Not sure where they were going as they didn't pass through the bus station.

This doesn't surprise me. Tory logic is obviously cut public transport where its most important. I personally can not believe how much they have cut from the transport budget.

Can't believe I'm about to say this but 40033 ( one of the new info buses) actually looks....good after its repaint!! http://cumbrianbuses.fotopic.net/p65341797.html

33169 has died in Workington Bus Station, i think it has been on Harrington.
34079, 47059 and 47061 around on Harrington and Seaton routes.
20901 on 48, now with Stagecoach in Cumbria fleetnames. the display has been changed as well! "Northside 48" used to fill the full flip dot, now there's some space around the outside, with Northside more squashed up and in a slightly smaller font!
20195 on short 300.
14234 on 30 and 31.
22598 on Staff Shuttle.
been told 52628 is on X4.
47617 on 50.

To add to my earlier sightings:

17017/22/24 on 2/2a
20547 on X1 later running a Carnforth route. 21007 was also on the X1
14196 on 81B

Spotted 16664 heading toward Morecambe. Didn't see the display but assume it was schools as it was about 3.20.

Also saw an UID Oly heading through Bowerham assume it was on the 2/2a. Been quite a while since I've seen an Oly on the 2/2a!

47006 on 3
47007 on 4
35247 on 31A

(as cainebj said) 47617 on moorclose 50 - looks like both 08' reg solos appear to have been painted, or at least both have had their stagecoach graphics reapplied and areas touched up!

they've defo been touched up!
part of 47617's rear bumper was painted in undercoat at the weekend, i think it had final coat gloss paint on it today. i didn't see if it still had the patch of paint missing off the side of it!

its just gone past my window, and i can confirm the patch has gone! about time these got a new coat and now a new additional solo to LL...

Looks like Optare Solo 47474 is going to join the Lillyhall fleet to replace 33169

....and not a 51 reg, i'm suspicious though haha :D good news, the sooner the better... not that we are missing the company of 33169 at all

My money was on 47001/2 when they're released from Wyre Villager duties in the next few months...ah well.

Bout time 47474 was used anyway!

And yes, they do fit... experienced it twice, including our resident bad smell 16352. So not really a story (although LEP and Stagecoach don't see eye to eye) Somehow they've managed to hang the various bunting and flags the same height of the wires (and off them in some cases).

(What you don't see is the kid off the shot to the left either bricking a window/opening the emergency door or graffiting the rear of the vehicle)...

hopefully its axle is properly repaired before it gets used!!! (if it gets used). another knackered minibus is something LL could really do without! especially with the real lack of spares these days!

Been told by someone that a decker was seen passing through Whitelund with Cartmel Races on the blinds. No idea what type if vehicle it was. I' assuming it was an old programming and not new...
