Class 70 Leeds Midland Road Depot

On Saturday I am going to Leeds Midland Road Depot to try and see a Class 70, does anybody know if one is likely to be there???

There is quite often 1 there, if not, there are always plenty of 66s.

Make sure to take a camera with a good lens or a pair of binoculars to see everything though

Thanks!!!, I hope they is one there, this will hopefully be the first time I have seen one as other times I have tried to see them they didn't turn up

I went out to see one with a mate on the first day but because he slept in, we missed it be 10 minutes.

Anyway, I've seen the first 4, 3 of which were at Midland Road (Evidence on my fotopic (I need to advertise somehow ))

There was:
Sat 30th Jan 2010 and Fri 9th Jane 2010

And then the was Sat 17th April 2010 with 70003 on the rail tour passing through Cross Gates.

I was please I managed to get some in the snow.

They're are the three best spots.

The one where the lorry is, it isn't usually there so you can stand and look through the main gate.

We were the only 2 photographers to have seen this, what a treat!

Anyway class 70's are currently working Ravensthruper-York coal trains and these happen on a daily basis.

I have just got back and there were 2 there!!!! Only problem is you could not work out the numbers, just anybody know what the numbers were

I don't see that seeing a class 70 would be a treat, whatever the circumstances. I still think they're hideous to behold!

I dont like them much, but this was a but different, and only the second time i'd ever seen one...
