Just been sent a link for an online test. Is this just a basic Situational Judgement Test or something else I need to prepare for? They haven't sent any other information, other than the link. Thanks.

yes just a basic test. It should give you a practice test before you attempt the marked test. I would just say make sure you do the practice then when your ready sit in a quiet room with no distractions and go for it!

hi my friend has a interview for conductor on the 10th could you please share any information on what to expect.

They will ask you for examples of times you have been in certain situations and how you dealt with them. Have examples ready and as you have probably read in other posts on here have the STAR reply ready (situation, task, action, result). Be confident and enthusiastic and you will be fine!

Have you passed the assessment afternoon? I'm going to Birmingham on 16 March for the tests. Any tips? Congratulations on getting through so far.

Yes I have passed the assessments. I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself regarding the assessments. The tests are made so you don't complete them. As long as you are accurate with what you have done you should be fine. Also the ticket assessment also includes railcards and discounts. You will get a sheet of paper with the discount information on. Good luck

Does the contract come in the post as I am waiting for this. Perhaps you will be on the same course as me then. I still need to hand my notice in. Hopefully all of this worry about pay will be gone by the time we start

Had contract come via email yesterday. I contacted WMT regarding current situation. Email from natasha sehmar says that they are still working business as usual. So due to start training on 29th April in Birmingham.

I'm having to do a new starter medical over the phone and when social distancing has finished I will need to do a full medical. No new information about whether the start date will be changed yet.

I was notified this week I have passed the tests and next stage will be an interview, but recruitment is currently on hold and they will be in touch. Any tips on what I should revise for the interview? Particular company info or any surprise questions? Much appreciated.

I had my interview at Birmingham new street instead of at my base depot being Coventry. There was two people asking questions and writing notes down. They asked questions about what I knew about the company and where they travel to. Best check the network to see where both WMT and also London northwestern travel to. They also ask questions about your current job. You will also be asked questions as a scenario base. e.g what would you do if a passenger didn't have a ticket and refused to purchase one. Always remember that safety is paramount. Also try to answer your questions using the star format

That's really helpful, thanks. I've applied for Bletchley. Hope your medical goes well!
