Yes thankfully , but as blackkat mentioned once you pass the sift the process picks up from stage 1/2 ,DMI , medical and start date tbh I don’t know how people wait months and years in talent pools

It does move quickly with arl , once you do get an invite. Some of the people that applied in November 2017 , started in February 2018. I started in the March 2018.

My mate was in the same boat skipped all the tests and went to DMI you should be in the same boat ?

Does anyone know if ARL hold talent pools or if you pass the DMI do they offer a start date as there is a live vacancy?

I couldn't say for sure , but I don't know anyone that has sat in a pool , and have not heard of one either.

I’ll have to ask. Got a DMI for ARL Monday but have been offered a position at SWR with a start date in the second half of the year so if I’m successful and get put in a pool I’d rather take one with a definitive start date I think.

ARL most likely give you a sooner start date tbh , better pay at ARL and I personally think ARL Is a good start in terms of you only drive 5 car formation no coupling and uncoupling trains no faffing around from 4 to 8/10 car only drive one train 378 unless your NL where you drive 710 that’s just my opinion thought I’d give an insight Also route learning and traction won’t be as long as SWR

Oh okay , last time I uncoupled and coupled a real train was DT4 other than that on the simulator lol I’m ELL

There isn't much . Couple of diagrams to come into service , but not in service. Although West Anglia do or used to in service.

I applied last July.

Only passed to national standard so I had to do TEA-Occ and M7 for stage 1 then VSE for stage 2. All the rest I carried over.

Heard there are no plans for any training classes before July... or even as far back as September sooo could be quite a wait...
