Who uses Rugby station building?

a question that has had me wondering for a while since Rugby was rebuilt, what is the station building (old one on the island platforms) used for?

Obviously first floor is platform level with shops, waiting room, toilets etc.

However, there are 2 more floors above this, does anyone know what they are used for?

It is still used by DBS traincrew, though do not see many people using it these days.

Freightliner have mess facilities at Platform level at Rugby near the Customer Services area, whilst London Midland use the old Red Star offices as their mess facilities.

The EWS mess you are thinking off (still has the sign above it) is no longer used by them, part of it is used by VT staff as locker facilities whilst another part was used by Fastline when Intermodals ran.

Pumpkin cafe has been closed for at least 3/4 months and the VT staff area is part of the Customer Services/Station Announcers office.

Not forgetting next to the current waiting room is the old Eurostar waiting room which appears to be now used as a stores area.

I think the top floor was originally used as dormitory accommodation for staff.

IMHO the station is now a shadow of its former self, in the late 50s early 60s it was a magnificent station.

totally, it certainly is more functional now but I really miss the roof most of all

The very top floor was condemned as unsafe a while back and has been blocked off internally.

As far as I'm aware the local model railway group still have their layout set up in a room on the first floor, on the 'up' side of the building. Over the years the rooms have changed usage many times, the room on the first floor where I started in '82 on a YTS course became the Route Learning School for a while but is probably empty now. We all used to rush to the window half way through the afternoon to watch the Northampton tripper on it's way back to Bescot with a 25 or a pair of 20s on.... happy days!
