Diversion between Liége and Eupen via freight line during Easter holidays

Durant les vacances de Pâques, la circulation des trains sera interrompue entre Verviers-Pepinster et Pepinster-Spa. Pour se rendre à Bruxelles, les navetteurs devront embarquer à Verviers à bord du train en direction de Welkenraedt. Une fois à Welkenraedt, ils pourront reprendre un IC en direction d’Ostende. Un détour par la boucle nord qui fera tout de même perdre entre 30 et 40 minutes. Une situation qui énerve les navetteurs.

The usual journey time from Liége to Eupen is 46 minutes. This is extended by about 20 minutes between the 4th and 19th of April.

Yes, via lines 40, 24, and 39. Quite rare mileage for passenger trains, so take the opportunity. Last time I went through line 39 was more than 20 years ago.

But then for the much more ´navetteurs´=commuters from Verviers the trip time is much more extended, from 22/23 mins or so (too lazy to check) now go to W´raedt and then the detoured train-will add to at least around 1 hr. The even the TEC bus might be quicker.
Nevertheless a good tip-I was planning to make some Kms in BE/NMBS anway around easter, so this might do for a nice and not too be missed extra.
