Good to get that in before the service is withdrawn shortly!
Edit - hadn't realised that this has already happened until @DanTrainMan185 's posting .

Paul:

Of course being local to this section of the country (in which your excellent knowledge comes handy on this game), you of all people are probably aware that Arriva have/are withdrawn/withdrawing* the 130. I see it has been picked up by D & G Bus and Coach but only between Macclesfield and Handforth. Think it should have at least continued to East Didsbury, where connections could have been made on the tram towards Manchester or buses towards the university (142 etc).

* According to an article by Manchester Evening News, the 130 was withdrawn on Sunday just gone. Can you confirm if this is the case?

I have now amended my posting to show D & G Bus as the service operator. The D & G Bus timetable came into effect on 27th January 2020.

Sorry, I thought it was Sunday, 9th February from what one of my new neighbours told me. The reason why the service was terminated at Handforth was this was the most northern-most town in Cheshire East on the route. To be honest, when the service was withdrawn from Manchester city centre not so long ago, it was still commencing from Parrs Wood, East Didsbury, which is still part of Greater Manchester. Daggers appear drawn between TfGM and Cheshire East Council.

If you recall, a similar matter occurred when the Stagecoach Manchester service 378 from Stockport to Wilmslow was terminated at Cheadle Hulme, as the onward part of the service from there ran in Cheshire East. Politics, eh!!!

Thank you for that detailed explanation.

Does the 130 confusion in fact put us back to Alderley Edge at 11:08? (Sorry if I'm confused).

No, because the section between Macclesfield and Handforth is still running, and has been taken over by D & G Bus and Coach, and Paul's move to Henbury is part of this route (although not operated by Arriva, as Paul has shown).

Thanks, wasn't sure if the timetable was changed, but it appears not.
