Nice to finally see EMR adding some branding, just a pity they haven’t done anything with stations and uniforms etc.

Uniforms have started to be replaced. Some staff now have EMR branded hats and scarves.

The Midland Mainline and Central Trains uniforms hung about for ages last time around too - might have been 2009 before they were changed.

And the people whinging about them being slow to change the uniform would no doubt whine as well if they changed it all from day one, saying it was a waste of money replacing stuff that didn’t need replacing.

It desperately needs replacing It's been in use for about 20 years and is tired. The plastic shirts etc are a nightmare, working on a 158 with jacked air conditioning in summer you look like a wet t shirt competition. We are all hoping for something much better.

I have to agree as an EMR passenger, the current uniform looks tatty and dated ngl.
I'd love to see a purple version of the GA uniform, I like the modern look of the white slim fitting shirts and the red tie

• Consult with staff/unions on designs and materials
• Prototypes produced and worn by trial users
• Sign-off final designs
• Manufacturer(s) produce uniforms in sufficient quantities to allow issue to all staff
• Uniforms issued to staff
• Agreed cutover date in place

South West Trains Guards took strike action over red waistcoats in the early 2000s. Goes to show why can't just roll these things out overnight.

You need proper uniform gear that is good quality, hard wearing, made of good quality materials, breathable, easy to care for, appropriate to the job (different jobs need different things) and is delivered in sufficient quantities that you can have a proper item rotation for cleaning and ironing.

It really annoys me when uniforms are cheap and nasty! It says you don't give a stuff, really, about your staff. I don't want people turned out like something out of the railway children but a good work uniform is essential to morale and PR. It says our brand is important and that you are important because you deliver that brand and personify our company values and goals ( free corporate speak for you here!)

If they (Abellio) go for the same supplier that they chose for the ScotRail uniform, then standby for being disappointed. They chose the cheapest quality tat they thought they could get away with! It made the First uniform look great!
