Also potential for some 153s to be done, may not even need the full treatment as per tfw sets if they remained coupled. Time will tell but it's looking increasingly suspect that theres enough diesel units to go around post 142/144/153 withdrawal

Alongside the new timetables, Northern is to remove all Pacers from the North East and continues to introduce refurbished trains, with more than 60 percent of the 268-strong fleet at least part way through the process.

142s are apparently at the back of the shed out of view. Yes, Botanic Gardens is extensively used by Northern and Hull Trains. The depot is packed on an evening for light servicing, repairs and A Exams. Not sure why these movements never appear on RTT.

So again, would you rather they renege on a relatively minor and self-imposed target, or cancel services to save face? I'd certainly rather a Pacer than an hour's delay or an RRB.

Nope. I'm still none the wiser as to how that is relevant to a reply to someone who said Northern have denied saying they would do something when they obviously had.

In case your next question is would I prefer to wear flip-flops or walk bare foot - I won't bother answering that either.

Except it isn't. There aren't infinite Sprinters at Heaton. If early on Monday morning one of the Sprinters was found to have a fault, with no spare available, what do you do? Cancel the diagram?... but Pacers only officially finished two days ago, so crews still sign them- which means they can substitute for the faulty sprinter.

Not ideal, and a bit embarrassing when they've publicly declared that Pacers won't run in the region... but far better than bustitution.

Hopefully there'll be enough Sprinters up there soon, as those Pacers in warm store won't last forever!
