If 001 is going for storage is it likely to make an appearance in service tommorow if required? Just looking like Heaton don't have as many Class 142s spare as they previously did...

It looks like the 142s in the North East have being rounded up at Heaton on Friday night 13/12. Whether any are let out on Saturday 14/12 remains to be seen.
These units ended at Heaton on Friday night having been in service on Friday: 142001,013,014,063,065,068,070,071,087,089.
These units were on Heaton on Friday and weren't allocated (the date in brackets is their most recent use): 142018 (5/12), 142032 (12/12), 142067 (11/12), 142087/088/094/095 (all 12/12).
As far as I can tell there are no 142s spending Friday night at Darlington, only 156s and 158s.
The 156s that moved from Newton Heath to Heaton on Friday (156421+156489+156490 on 5Z56 0910 NH-HT) were all put straight into passenger use on Friday afternnon/evening after arrival in the North East.

142013 is on the Tyne Valley all day, currently 1054 Morpeth-Carlisle and finishing with 2204 Carlisle-Newcastle.
142032 is on 1056 Hexham-Danby, 1350 Danby-Hexham, 1654 Hexham-Nunthorpe, 1920 Nunthorpe-Metrocentre, 2121 Metrocentre-Morpeth, 2211 Morpeth-Hexham, 2325 Hexham-Newcastle.
142065 is on 1030 Newcastle-Carlisle, 1225 Carlisle-Newcastle, 1440 Newcastle-Carlisle, 1623 Carlisle-Newcastle, 1803 Newcastle-Chathill, 1930 Chathill-Newcastle, 2229 Newcastle-Hartlepool and empty back to Heaton.
(142089 was working earlier but is now back at Heaton.)
Bishop Auckland - Darlington - Saltburn is entirely Class 156 today.
Correct at time of posting, things may change etc.

Is it likely that today is the last day of 142 operations in the north east? Was hoping for one last journey before they go but busy with other stuff today.
I'm led to believe that this is the case! I think it's possible that some might end up being used ad-hoc on Monday maybe into Tuesday but it's probably a very low chance short of several 156s going off sick at the same time!
I can't believe I've already had my last Pacer on the Saltburn branch!

Can anyone confirm if 142032 is still working the above diagram? Hoping to catch it from Thornaby to Nunthorpe and back!

That looks to be a bit of old news.
Go back to post # 1816 of Tuesday this week.
Just had a look at BiF today, it's just had it's first sets of 195s sent to it for warm storage 195108 & 195128. I don't think that theses have been use in passenger service yet.

According to the trainline, the 1654 Hexham to Nunthorpe has been cancelled. Where is 142032 now?
It is cancelled between Middlesbrough and Nunthorpe only, so will terminate at Middlesbrough at 18:55
