What ideas are floating around for better north/south links for Wales? How would reopening Carmarthen-Aberystwyth do anything to improve Cardiff-Holyhead journey times? What new line could avoid the need to go into England (!) twice on the route?
I think some journeys in Austria (e.g. Innsbruck-Salzburg) are routed through Germany so his assertion is incorrect that rail travel between parts of Wales is unique in routing via another country. I'm sure people can think of other examples?
