Is there an up to date list anywhere showing the names carried including individual vehicle numbers where sets carry different names at each end?

802101 was I believe the set named Nancy Astor in Plymouth last week.

I believe the list is thus:
800 003 Queen Elizabeth II/Queen Victoria
800 004 Sir Daniel Gooch/Isambard Kingdom Brunel
800 009 Sir Gareth Edwards/John Charles
800 010 Michael Bond/Paddington Bear
800 014 Edith New/Megan Lloyd George CH
800 019 Joy Lofthouse name/Johnny Johnson
800 020 Bob Woodward/Elizabeth Ralph
800 023 Kathryn Osmond/Firefighter Fleur Lombard QGM
800 026 Don Cameron
800 306 Harold Day/Alan Leonard Lewis
802 008 RNLB Solomon Browne/Rick Rescorla
802 011 Capt. Robert Falcon Scott RN CVO/Sir Joshua Reynolds PRA
802 013 Michael Eavis
802 101 Nancy Astor CH

800 003 is now denamed. 802 101 was named at Paddington, I understand. I don't know which end carries which name.

So, why on earth would they de-name trains that were only named around 2 years ago?
Has anyone told the Queen that she has been de-named?

They were re-vinyled and haven’t been re-added yet. Nothing so dramatic.

It is a problem when you include the name as part of the livery vinyl. You can't beat traditional cast nameplates!

(Im not being dramatic, I just think the GW IET efforts look poor compared to say, the HST efforts)

I have to agree that the names on the side look awful. Extremely fussy, cluttered and messy. And the whole thing with each set having 2 names, meaning a pair of 5s will eventually carry 4 names!
Personally I'd rather see "City of" type names or something a little more meaningful, as many of the names mean nothing.

I think that having heavy brass nameplates on these streamlined trains would look wrong. Having said that, I do like the brass nameplates applied to the ‘Castle Class’ HST’s (see image). Where the names of people are applied, I just wish they would not have any other nonsense such as signatures - which looks messy. Perhaps the old names of the ‘Western Class’ of the 1960’s could have been revived?

I absolutely detest the dull green livery that we see on those trains with vinyls. Looks to me like a colour that would have been used by communist East Germany in the 1950’ & 60’s. Even the ones with real paint are little better. I have no problem with each driving end having a name. I note that GWR have dropped the ‘named trains’ from the printed timetable. I would have preferred to have seen the fastest services between various places retain the historic ‘Named Trains’. (EG. The only service between Carmarthen & London being ‘The Red Dragon’; the fastest Cardiff to London being ‘The Capitals United’, etc.. This branding I would like to have seen on the electronic screens and be on announcements at stations and on-board.
