GWR Reading Guard/Conductor July 2019 Assessment

I passed the first stage of the guards assessment for GWR back in early July but have heard nothing about progressing to stage 2. That was four months ago now. I've inquired about moving forward, but there is no news to give me. I see GWR are still advertising for Reading guards which makes it all the more strange. Is this typical of rail recruitment or have I just not cut it?

Did you apply Reading around the same time? Have you progressed?

GWR seem to have varied response times, I sat my stage 2 just 12 days after stage 1. (Which was mid-July for stage 1, then late July for stage 2).

I've seen people say they've waited for 6 months for stage 2 to come around.

It was yes, I did have a chat with people on my course and I seemed to have got amazingly lucky somehow. Everyone else had been waiting 3 months-6 months.

My assessment was July 8th. Were you on that one or did you say later? You've already on a course?

How did you get on with part 2? did you pass?

My stage 1 was later. I did not pass stage 2 unfortunately!

If it helps I had my stage 1 in Feb 19 and only got stage 2 in Oct 19, luckily got through and am waiting for a position next year.
