Apologies if already mentioned but just noticed a working on real time trains down for the early hours of Monday 4th November from Hornsey Emud to Lovers Walk pathed as class 313. Won't let me post a link on my phone but presumably one going as a spares donor? Depart 0339 arrive 0624

it may be a 387 returning from a major exam, sometimes the GX ones are sent north if the maintenance plan requires it, but that will have to be confirmed by someone in the know.

Edit: Having looked at the working, it might just be a 313, as it's down as a freight movement as opposed to a standard movement

387226 is at Hornsey for Wheel Lathe treatment, which I suspect will fulfil that path and head back to Lovers Walk.

387s spend the weekend going through the lathe at Hornsey - you can see them from the Eastern entrance to the station being manoeuvred by the little battery shunter - they arrive during the day on a Friday and then disappear overnight before Monday, so I’d also expect the above but would happily be told otherwise.

I’m surprised that no more 313s have gone to EMR Kingsbury for the chop :/ I’d would’ve thought a few units would be sent there rather than just the one

313060 was taken for scrap last night. It has gone by road to Newport Docks by the looks of it.

I was expecting either 064 ort 134 to go by road for disposal so it is quite surprising to see 060 make this unusual last journey. But as you said the lack of doors probably prevented the usual move by rail on health and safety grounds.

Yup, just those four left now. Almost all of them have now been disposed of.

They’re currently all on 18 road at Hornsey, 134 on the stops, then 064, 039 and 061 sticking out of the shed. Depends whether they want to shunt them before Monday.

Dam, I was hoping it was going to be a run to Booths rather then Newport....

I presume both scrap yards only have room for one set at a time, or could the last two sets be taken at the same time ?

Depends really though the scrapping process at Newport Docks tends to be done quickly

Sims have taken 12-car trains in the past; when the slam-door units were being scrapped most deliveries were in the form of three units at a time.

One each to get a price, EMR quote probably to low, Those that go to Newport get shredded, sorted and on to a ship for export.
as for Booths, the last time I was up there the place was a quagmire and with the recent flooding i hate to think what its like now, (it was a while ago now and they had Q Stock, APT and a Vulcan bomber)

Are you using “set” here to mean two units, because haven’t they usually gone to Newport as pairs?

121 is still around. I do believe NR will be reinstating it soon for ERTMS testing on the GWML

Just passed Hornsey and there are still at least 4 of them there, including the two that operated the recent tour. They looked quite clean from the outside in the autumnal sunshine.
